We stayed in Santorini for 8 days whichw as too long.
We stayed in Santorini for 8 days whichw as too long. We did a trip to Crete for only 4 days and should have switched that around as Crete is a much bigger island with more to do.
In Santorini we booked taxis ahead of time for transfers and we ended up catching buses in between which was much cheaper and more fun!
Weather in October was nice but chilly in the evenings.

You never needed to travel for the Sunset while staying at FIROSTFANI! It was the best spot for photos. The restaurants were all equally amazing especially with the views of the caldera. Getting around was not a problem if you wanted to take the bus or catch a taxi. The month of September was pretty perfect since you did not need to deal with all the hustle and bustle of the tourists.

We stayed here in Firostefani for 3 nights.
We stayed here in Firostefani for 3 nights. We really enjoyed it. Firostefani is the perfect town to stay at in Santorini imo. It isn't crowded like Fira or Oia. It's not too quiet like Imerovigli either. It has some shops and restaurants, but nothing too busy or noisy.

A really central location with terrific caldera views!
A really central location with terrific caldera views! Depending on where you stay, there are some places In Firostefani that require fewer steps to navigate compared to other locations along the caldera. There are also some great restaurants at reasonable prices.

I really do not like Firostefani any more.
I really do not like Firostefani any more. I have been there 3 times, the first time in 2005 when I really loved it. The second time, in 2015, I still liked it, however, I would not go back there any more. Too many tourists. Five huge cruise liners would drop off their passengers each day and, together with the tourists staying on the island it became a bit of a nightmare. We did travel throughout the entire island with a hire car, which was great, and also undertook a an afternoon cruise on a yacht, which was fantastic.
The property was located in a beautiful location.. not easy because of the stairs to get down and up but typical of Santorini… made for an exceptional view.
The staff were very attentive… and Laven and Jenny were exceptional… even the woman who cared for the room was very special. The fact that their staff brought up and down the luggage on that really big climb was excellent… Laven the guy who managed it all was super attentive. Even stood with me in the early morning after bringing up my bags so that I would be safe.
The best part of our trip ! The room had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, and the views were out of this world. The private pool was amazing during the day when it was too hot to walk in town. The staff were so friendly and so accommodating and helped with any questions we had. Restaurants close by. Main town of Fira is about a 10 minute scenic walk. The views are incredible. Bus stop to take you to Oia is about a 15 minute walk. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Santorini!!
Georgia was an exceptional host. Her family welcomed us from the moment we arrived from the airport in Santorini. The room was super clean and organized with all the amenities, including a free liter bottle of water. Breakfast was delicious. The view from the patio was breathtaking of the Aegean Sea and you could view the sunset in the evening from this property. I definitely recommending staying at Santorini View Studios and can’t wait to be back for my next stay when I visit again.
We had an amazing time at this hotel. All staff (receptionist, porter..) were extremely polite and helpful, also offered a complimentary drink and a lot of useful advice. We enjoyed the whirpool bathtub every evening and it was the best ending of a day spent by walking in windy Santorini. The view was magnificent, the pool area beautiful and relaxing. Everything cleaned daily. Also the location was perfect - central but not on the main pathwalk, so we had privacy.
It was a real greek experience, you can feel both like in Mamma Mia movie and at home in the same time :)
Hotel is owned by a family, who makes all the guests feels at home. I have already travelled to 45 countries and stayed in many places, but I have never met nicer hosts than the owners of this place. It is unusual especially in such a popular place like Santorini. I honestly recommend this place to everyone and I hope I will come back there one day :)
Location perfectly located in the center of Firostefani very close to the main shops, bars and bus station. The apartment is just like you can imagine a Greek place. White and blu, warm, big enough and with sea view. I have no words to describe how kind and friendly Katerina is. She helped us in everything by keeping the luggages and late check in. She is very kind. This place is highly recommended for a perfect stay in Santorini. Thank you Katerina.
The breakfast was incredible! They have an eating area by the pool looking over the caldera. You pick whatever you’d like off the menu. They have fresh fruit, yogurt, granola, many types of bread, eggs, omelettes and pastries. Of course coffee any way you’d like. The staff were very kind and helpful. The hotel was immaculate! We had the villa which was very spacious. There are lots of stairs but that’s to be expected in Santorini!
Very well run family hotel, spotlessly clean & well priced. Good location & facilities, had everything we needed for our comfort. We had Sunrise views from our large terrace & Sunset views of the Caledara from a viewing terrace. The check-in with Nikolina was very informative, she took time to explain a lot about Santorini & offer advice about the local area. Very well priced drinks from bar.
Would definitely stay here again!
We were lucky that we got 5 days of peace by our little pool - but if you go at the wrong time and there are lots of noisy people there, it would not be worth the extra money for the suite as was proved on our last 2 days when a large party arrived. . The shower was good (apart from the smell) Weather is amazing but this place is not worth the money. Santorini is very beautiful but bloody expensive for no apparent reason.
Iveta organised a taxi for us from the airport which was such a big help, when we arrived she was there to greet us, gave us a tour and sent a massive recommendation list of things to do in Santorini, she was incredibly helpful with any questions we had during our stay and even let us stay past check in so we weren’t wondering around hours waiting for our ferry, incredibly thankful and couldn’t recommend this place enough!!
The view from our balcony was absolutely amazing and the style of the hotel made it a truly Santorini experience. We watched the sunset sitting on our balcony (no need to be with the crowds to see the sunset). The breakfast was fantastic and great care was taken by the very friendly and accommodating owners and staff to make sure we were comfortable and our needs were met. This hotel was a true 10 in all categories.
We reserved the Family Room at the end of September, and it was perfect for our group of three. The rooftop pool view was TO DIE FOR. Our friends don’t believe the pictures we took were real. Proximity to Fira and Imerovigli made our outings easy. Even though we had a car, most of our time was spent exploring the stone pathways and Caldera trail to enjoy Santorini at its best. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
The location is absolute perfection. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Santorini now that I’ve experienced it here. The view from our room and the hotel was incredible and the room (#8) was very nice and comfortable! It was clean and there was hot water. The pool area was lovely, and we felt we could have stayed at the hotel the entire time, really. So happy we stayed here.
The holiday was perfect. The hotel has a wonderful view over the caldera and is in a strategic position for getting around the island. Having breakfast in the morning with a view of the Santorini sea is a unique experience. The hotel is neat and clean. The staff are friendly and Panos is very willing to cater for every need. I will definitely be back.
Wow! What a beautiful place Santorini is! We loved the Sunset hotel. From check-in to check out everything was wonderful. The views are breath taking, the location is close to shops, restaurants, buses etc. The room was comfortable and spotless. Greek hospitality is amazing. A special thank you to Yoita at the front desk for all the help she gave us.
What can I say other than wow! Dana Villas far exceeded our expectations and then some! From the moment we arrived, the staff and facilities were sublime and not to mention the views. We got married in Santorini and stayed at Dana as our honeymoon period, we couldn’t have been more looked after- you have to stay here!
We absolutely loved staying here. The hotel is close to the town but enough away that it’s nice and quiet. The staff were so so lovely and helpful. The rooms were cutely designed, clean, and very comfy. WiFi on Santorini isn’t great anywhere.
Great view of Caldera and sunset, right on the path from Fira to Oia. Best Sunset view on Santorini. Convenient location between Fira and Oia. Walking distance to Fira and Firostefani. Breakfast in Room was a great convenience and delicious.
