The staff/owners went above and beyond in their attention as well as should there be any problems they with dealt with ASAP.
As our taxi airport transfer wasn’t due until 1400 hrs they allowed us to check out late obviously this is dealt with a case by case as the hotel occupancy at any one time may effect the possibility.

Gouves its a village, perhaps not as glamorous as Chania side of Crete but I liked it. Is a bit unpolished, I would say, not with that feeling of drowning under the - all included large hotel complexes and the tourist vulgo that comes with it. Its a more apartments district with greeks coming on vacations too. Plenty of taverns with prices ranging between; main courses 7-14€, drinks 5€ and cocktails 7€, breakfast 5-8€. It also has several Super markets, two of them larger with everything you need. All the above its at walking distance. 10 min with the car or moped from Gouves up inte mountains, you come to smaller villages like Hersonissos with fantastik tavernas and beautiful views.

A charming village, about 15 minutes from Heraqlion by bus (no. 2 from the airport).
Do NOT miss the Asteria taverna next to Lavris hotel: every Sunday and Tuesday a live performance of traditional Greek and Cretan music, with the beautiful Anna teaching Greek dances. It's not a tourist taveran (although there are tourists there of course) but aimed mainly for the locals. We will remember our two visits there as one of our unique experiences in Crete, and no doubt the most enjoable of them.

The day I was in Gouves the beaches were basically nonexistent due to the high tie and was very very windy. Walking along the sea was nice but given the nice beaches the island has to offer I'd rather go somewhere else or at least not stay there for long
What a lovely place. The grounds are just so beautiful and if you like your open space this is the place to stay. Rented the whole complex so had access to each of the apartments, all of which were really clean, tidy and cosy with great facilities.
Better if you have transport as the complex is situated off the main road via a dirt track but still can walk to the shops if you need anything.
Owners were just so kind and helpful with anything we needed.
Overall a great place to stay with the family and will definitely be going back again.
Perfect location in (Kato-)Gouves, just a few minutes from Heraklion Airport and right by the sea.
Friendly, nice, loving and helpful owner family. Very well equipped, manageable and family-run apartment complex, with private pool. The apartments lack nothing - everything you need is available. Quiet location and within walking distance you reach everything: small and large supermarkets, souvenir stores, bars and restaurants as well as doctor and pharmacy.
George's Bar right next door is an absolutely recommendable coffee spot.
Everything. We had stayed in this hotel on the first day of our holiday and by the end of the holiday we just had to return. This hotel made our holiday a million times better. Small, intim hotel with very lovely staff, excellent food and very close to a great beach. Thank you also for the bottle of champagne you surprised us with, as a gift for returning to your hotel. It was a great surprise. When we return to Crete, we will definitely book our entire holiday in this hotel.
Kleanthi Apts is a small family run apartment block. kleanthi and her son went above and beyond consistently to facilitate me and my children during our stay.
We felt really at home here and was waited on constantly.
The swimming pool is small but does the job. The rooms are large and immaculate.
The location is a 15 minutes walk from the beach and various resturaunts.
I would very much recommend this hotel and will certainly be returning.
The beds were very comfy and the bedrooms had lots of storage and space. The outdoor kitchen area was fantastic, loved the fact they had included a fridge. The pool was a great size and the sunloungers were very comfortable. There are so many great things about this villa. It's the best villa we've stayed in. One last thing we loved was it's location a 15 minute walk to Pano Gouves and a 15 minute walk in the other direction to Kato Gouves.
It was such a wonderful stay. The location is perfect - easy to get to from the airport but convenient for trips out around the island. The staff could not have been nicer, especially in the spa where the service was exceptional. Food was varied and excellent. My children (aged 11 and 13) had so much fun at the water park. As a family that tries to find somewhere new every holiday, this is the one resort we would return to again.
Friendly, helpful staff.
We got bigger room with seaview.
There was welcome pack in the fridge - water, juice and fruits.
Free airport shuttle - arrived on time, fast.
All inclusive matches the price - drinks are available during day, but don't expect large selection.
Food is similar every day, but it sometimes depends on time when you arrive.
Beach is sandy, only 20 meters from the hotel.
Small kitchen in the room.
great staff , very friendly and very helpful
always smiling , very clean staff in both the kitchen, restaurant and bars
we enjoyed our stay a lot , it’s family friendly resort (with a baby it was perfect to stay in the bungalows in the ground floor) but we missed a good sea view from the room
the animation team is amazing and very good with children, activities for kids all day
The staff has been great. It's a family owned hotel and they are just such a nice people. Breakfast in the morning freshly made and lots of variety. During the day free coffee and juices.
The first night we had a room (which is very big) at the main road side and was quite noisy at night. We asked for a room on the other side and next day we got this which was much more quiet.
Large beautiful house. Loved the private bath in each bedroom. Large beautilly stocked kitchen with all the tools you need to have delicious meals at home. Hosts provided lists of what to do in the area, where to eat , taxis and more. House is immaculate! You will never find a cleaner home. We had a wonderful family vacation.
Great hotel. Great staff and owner and Mrs. Irena. Many thanks to Mrs. Irena and the owner for this wonderful time. Everything was wonderful. The location was great by the sea. Every day everything was clean, the rooms were cleaned, towels changed. We want to return to Crete to Gouves and to this hotel.
From arrival to departure, everything about the Rena Apartments was excellent. The staff and owners were great and nothing was too much trouble. This place is a definite must to stay around Gouves with easy access to the road networks for exploring the surrounding areas.
The breakfast was acceptable but the same variety every day. The stuff were very friendly and polite. The room was cleaned very well, towels were changed after 2 days. Air conditioning worked well. The atmosphere in the hotel is very pleasant.
