Easy to find and no trouble checking in. Nice lady at reception showed us 2 rooms, one at the front of the hotel and one at the back. We opted for the rear room away from the main road. Double glazing kept any other noise out well and the aircon was quiet so a good night sleep was had.
Room a good size, clean, comfortable bed and decent shower room..hooray!
Included breakfast was a bit indifferent but some nice pastries and coffee.
Matala Bay Hotel & Apartments is located amidst lush greenery, within 250 metres from the beach, and has a swimming pool, restaurant and snack bar.

Matala Bay Hotel is the best hotel in Matala. There is a beautiful garden with a large swimming pool. Efcharisto poli Yannis and Yohanina. They were very kind to us at breakfast. The location amidst the rock formations is amazing.
Hotel Alexander Beach is situated on the edge of Kalamaki, in central southern Crete. Only 4.4 km from Timpaki, it offers 25 comfortably furnished rooms with shower, toilet and balcony.

The accommodation is located a 10-minute walk from the center of Matala in a quiet and peaceful area. It also includes a parking lot. The apartment was very pleasant, with a friendly terrace. The staff is nice and very helpful. The breakfast was very good. I recommend the accommodation.
I shall not write about Listaros. Listaros itself is a very small village with one cafe/tavern. Close to the villa is the traditonal village of Sivas with charming central place, old houses and narrow streets. There are 2 splendid taverns there - Vafis and Pezula and some small shops. The large town Moires is some 10 min. of drive, with all its shops (regular, not tourist trash like in Matala), cafe, tavernas and traditional weekly fair.
There are important archeological places nearby - Agia Triada, Phaistos, Gortys.
