IMPORTANT: PLEASE WE NOW OFFER ACCOMMODATION ONLY. BREAKFAST IS NOT INCLUDED AND IS NOT AVAILABLE ON REQUEST. The Red Door is an Edwardian house built in 1913. It retains many of its original features and has been tastefully modernised. It is convenient to Limerick City Centre (10 minutes walking) and Shannon Airport (20 minutes by car). There are five rooms available at the Red Door, four of which have bathrooms ensuite while a fifth room has a private bathroom immediately adjacent to it. Of the five rooms, 4 have a double bed. The fifth room is a twin bedded room with 2 single beds. Free Wifi is available throughout the house. Please note, there are no televisions or tea making facilities in the rooms. WE HAVE MOVED TO A ROOM ONLY SERVICE. WE DO NOT SERVE BREAKFAST OR FOOD OF ANY KIND.
The Red Door has operated for many years (since 1963) as a bed and breakfast and welcomes guests from all over the world. Currently it is operated by second generation family members who live on the premises. The house is home to the owners Philip and Trudy Kenny annd also hosts Ollie the German Pointer. So if guests are fond of Dogs, this is the Bed and Breakfast for you. The Red Door is also the location of Philip Kenny Studio where a range of domestic homewares are designed and produced. Guests are welcome to visit the pottery and take lessons by arrangement.
The Red Door is conveniently located to Limerick City's sights, restaurants and attractions. These include King John's Castle, St. Mary's Cathedral, The Hunt Museum, Limerick's Georgian Quarter and the City Art Gallery. A short journey by car will take in beautiful Adare Village, Bunratty Folk Park and Village and the beautiful Lakeside Town of Killaloe. The famous Cliffs of Moher are barely one hour away by car. Limerick is an excellent cental location for exploring Co. Clare, North Kerry, Tipperary and North Cork. Galway City is one hour by car and Cork City perhaps an hour and 20 minutes.
