Vizag has a great waterfront and a good range of restaurants for visitors. But it is not a tourist town as such. So many people do not speak English, and many others have only a few words of English. The Zoo is lovely and the seaside parks very pleasant. We took a day tour up to Araku from Vizag and that was well worthwhile.

Never before in the history of Indian budget hotels has so much been owed by so many hapless foreign tourists to so few expert Indian plumbers. Nearby are numerous restaurants, cafes, dhabas and street food stalls. Easy to get to on bus 900K from Visakhapatnam, with just a short walk from the bus stop on the main road. The staff are welcoming and friendly.
