Engimyri Guesthouse is located in the valley of Oxnadalur, right by Highway number 1, only 34 km west of Akureyri. Comfortable rooms are furnished with made up beds. Hiking trails and other activities The lakes of Hraunsvatn and Thverbrekkuvatn are in walking distance from the Guesthouse, with its ample fishing, free of charge. The scenery in the valley is breathtaking and there is plenty to explore as there are several hiking trails in the vicinity. Hunting is available in the fall and the swimming pool at Thelamork is only 15 minutes away. We we offer a varied breakfast buffet and homemade food. We invite you to try our home products!

We are three girls from Poland and each of us fulfills a different mission in our guest house: Karolina - a manager and a who likes to sew, decorating our guesthouse in the spirit of less waste Daria - the head of the reception and restaurant, who makes sure that everyone who visits us feels at home Kasia - a kitchen sorceress who is our chef and master of pickled vegetables! Through the valley Oxnadalur at the base of Trollaskagi, Ring Road travellers will be treated with the finest scenery between Reykjavik and Akureyri. The Ring Road follows the deep and narrow valley for over 30 km and reaches its highest point at an altitude of 540 metres. The whole area is excellent mountaineering country and the weather is as fine as you’re likely to encounter anywhere in the Icelandic mountains [...] The imposing 1075-meter spire of Hraundrangi and the surrounding peaks of Haafjall are probably the most dramatic in Iceland. Early settlers considered the summit of Hraundrangi inaccessible and perpetuated legend of a hidden cache of gold that awaited the first climber to reach the top. It was finally conquered in 1956.
