Our room was very spacious and comfortable. We were greeted by a friendly person and made arrangements for a great dinner. The breakfast, which was included, was very good with many choices. I would definitely stay here again.

Location was really good if you have a car, very quite place with lots of nature surounding, only around 10 min by car to reach black beach, and also around 10 min to reach Vik town. The apartment was very bright and had nice view to the distant black beach. Parking was easy and always avalable. Rain shower was relaxing and nice.

Must try black crust pizza.
Must try black crust pizza. The lookout point at Dyrhólaey panoramic views, don't miss it and of course the Black Sand beach. To visit the crashed US plane, either we can walk for 3 hours (both ways) or take shuttle which will cost ISK3000 per person.

Vik is a picturesque gem tucked along the country's stunning south coast! Reynisfjara Beach is easily accessible, where black sand meets crashing waves with towering basalt columns as the backdrop. The wind can get too strong which makes a part of the beach dangerous (sneaker waves warning), but it is still well worth visiting. The town is charming with cozy cafes (try the black crust pizza!), the locals are warm and welcoming. This town is the perfect location to embrace the opportunity to disconnect and immerse yourself in Iceland's raw beauty.

We stayed in Vik for 3 days. Totally loved it.
We stayed in Vik for 3 days. Totally loved it. It is quite a small town, but has a big supermarket (kronan), a really great quality hiking clothes/supplies store, plus a number of cafes and places to eat. We recommend Sudur Vik Restaurant especially.
We did the Katla Track ice cave tour which was amazing and left from Vik!! Also recommend Icelandic Mountain Guides Snowmobile tour - meeting point 25 mins drive from Vik. Black Sand beach is great, as is local open air pool.
We stayed in the Vik hotel which is fabulous, but as we were there for three days, I would have preferred an apartment. The hotel also operates the Vik Apartments (which I hadn't realised before I booked) - they look really good.

We based our family of 5 in Vik to explore the southern coast over 3 nights with our rental car. We found it easier to have one base rather than a different hotel each night.
We visited the Skogafoss Waterfall, Black Sand Beach, YODA caves, gorge hike, Glacier walk at Skaftafell and then onto the Glacier lagoon and Diamond Beach.
We didn’t eat out as it was expensive for what appeared average food so we went to the local supermarket and cooked back at our self catered apartment.
Vik offers lots of adventure based companies who organise tour and expeditions.
The apartment was lovely and very spacious, very well equiped if you wanted to use the kitchen. There was a washer and dryer (USA sizes!) , large refrigerator and stove. Beds were quite comfortable. We were on the second floor (apartment was one story) so we had a nice view of the ocean. It was one of our favorite places to stay in Iceland. There were no signs on the apartments and the hotel (VIK) where you had to get the keys was off the main road. However, they looked exactly like they did in the pictures on the internet booking site.
This wonderful Guesthouse was more than we could have imagined!! Gudrun was such a wonderful hostess - so welcoming and friendly to us! The best was finding the homemade waffle batter in the fridge for us!! After many days of traveling around Iceland, it was a delight to have a full kitchen with supplies. Location is awesome too - we enjoyed walking around charming Vik straight from the guesthouse. One of our best meals was at Sudur Vik which Gudrun recommended to us. I hope to be able to visit again!
Good value stay very close to Vik. A good sized room and large bathroom, with plenty of car parking space. It was great having the option of dinner at the hotel, and our dinner meals were good and reasonably priced for Iceland (though we were the only 2 eating in!). The breakfast buffet was also good and replenished regularly (particularly as we were eating at the same time as a large tour group). Staff were very pleasant.
Located just 10min from Viki and the amazing Black Sand beach in a peace and quiet this place was absolute amazing. Little small but very cozy, and very comfortable.beds, in the kitchen we had everything we needed, fresh towels. Perfect place to stay in south of Iceland as many amazing places are to see and what's the bonus we got to see the aurora just from our balcony one night which was an unforgettable experience
This was one of our favorite hotels in our 10-day trip around Iceland. The staff was very nice and friendly, the room spacious, comfortable, and clean. Great location, gorgeous view. Dinner at the hotel’s restaurant was the cherry on top. Sophisticated and creative take on Icelandic dishes. The whole experience was just memorable! Breakfast is also outstanding and included. Definitely recommended!
We had a room in the hostel. It was huge! Enough space for all our luggage and camera gear. Very clean room with a comfy bed; king size and two separate duvets. Also a lovely location, very close to a famous black beach in Iceland and Vik an 8 minute drive away. Vik had an excellent burger bar (fun and hip) and The Barn had a great bar open until 23:30 to come back to and enjoy.
The charm of the older hotel and rooms were very nice and the staff were friendly. The beds were clean and comfortable. A huge plus the restaurant next door was really wonderful the food was delicious! Also the breakfast in the hotel itself was very good and offered a great assortment of food! Our first night in Iceland did not disappoint at the hotel Puffin!
One of the cutest places we have ever stayed. The host treated us like family members. The house itself is located near the most famous beach of the Iceland, you can get there by foot. And after driving 2 hours around the Vik to see the Northern lights,we saw them in front of the house, when we came back.
great location just a 10 minute drive from Vik. The room was comfortable for three people. Great use of space. the kitchenette area was perfect for our short stop over before heading to the Golden Circle area. The cabins are also situated for the best viewing of the incredible sunsets in Iceland.
This was one of the best guesthouses where we stayed during our trip in Iceland. The rooms are very comfortable and spacious, and the bathrooms very clean. Also the big hall used for breakfast with view over Vik is simply amazing. Definitely exceeded our expectations.
Location is perfect: quiet but also very close to Vik and Black Beach. Room is spacious and has a lot of storage space for the luggage. The parking is just at the door of your room which is perfect in rainy weather (that is very often in Iceland).
Hrund was incredibly nice and accommodating, even gave us homemade bread one evening. The room is clean and cozy, water is hot, and it’s walking distance to all of Vik’s main restaurants and stores. Perfect place to explore the south of Iceland.
We loved our stay at Puffin Hotel. Great location, super friendly staff, clean and spacious room. The breakfast was delicious, a great variety of choice. Highly recommend this hotel on your trip around Iceland!
Lovely location close to Vik. The price was fair compared to the usual Icelandic standard. Everything was clean, we had a warm welcome from the hosts, and a nice breakfast in the morning (basic, but good)
This was one of my favourite hotels in Iceland. It is clean and modern. The restaurant and breakfast area has a beautiful view of the moutains. It is close to the sights and close to the shops.
This was our favorite hotel of our entire trip to Iceland. The jacuzzi was great, the location was quiet, the rooms are beautiful, staff is friendly, and we enjoyed our dinner immensely.
Beautiful location- pretty standard euro style hotel. Lovely overall, best of the 5 hotels I stayed in in Iceland. Excellent breakfast. Lots of parking. Amazing view.
Room was nice and the staff were really nice. I think for what you get compared to other hotels in Iceland this hotel is lagging behind. No spa etc and gym was awful
