Kite-shaped Trapani makes an impressive sight from lofty Mount Erice, connected to the peninsula below by cable car. On a clear day, the mountain also offers views of Tunisia - one destination of ferries from Trapani Port, alongside Cagliari, Pantelleria and the offshore Egadi Islands.
Overlooking the port is the old town, where arched doorways on narrow streets open onto many cheap apartments and B&Bs on Booking.com. Shabby chic façades sit alongside historic churches, such as understated Trapani Cathedral, somewhat lost amid elegant Corso Vittorio Emanuele, where pavement cafes sit in front of pastel-coloured buildings and metal balconies.
At the tip of the peninsula is the fortress-like Tower of Ligny lighthouse, now housing the Prehistory and Sea Museum. The Colombaia Castle protects the port from an island to the south, while in the other direction the sweeping coastline passes some beachfront hotels with swimming pools.
Villa Margherita Park offers shade from the Mediterranean sun, and Triton’s Fountain graces a neighbouring square. The simple façade of the Basilica of Maria Santissima Annunziata hides the treasures within, including a statue of the Madonna of Trapani which is at the heart of the Easter ‘Misteri’ celebrations.
Between the city and Trapani-Birgi Airport, historic windmills sit beside salt pans. The Salt Museum provides details of this major industry.

Trapani is only worth visiting to get to the islands otherwise I would not bother. Big industrial and port area. Other places to stay were much nicer.v We quit after a day and went to Scopello which is lovely.

Trapani is a great "normal" town- not too touristy. There are great restaurants, good shopping, and you can reach a lot of wonderful places such as Erice, San Vito lo Capo, the Egadi Islands, Marsala and loads more. There are beaches, churches, ports...a bit of everything but at a relaxed level.

Perfect town for a short break or for a beach holiday, the town is in between a harbor and the beach. The city centre is vibrant, lots of restaurants and bars. The surrounding areas worth a visit if you are interested in arts, nature or simply laze on the beach.
People are friendly, the food spectacular!

Trapani is lovely town nicely laid out with good public transport - although beware as the busses stop running by about 21:30 in the evening and none on a Sunday. A good selection of shops for those wanting to indulge.
The old town is stunning and a must to visit both during the day and particularly in the evening when it totally comes alive with an abundance of restaurants to suit every taste and pocket.
The rooms are spacious with very nice facilities. There are spectacular views from the rooftop breakfast room. Breakfast was great with many options. When we were there in May, there was abundant street parking very close to the hotel, paid with the Easy Park app which is a really nice way to deal with parking all over Sicily. It was straightforward to park next to the hotel for loading and unloading. The location is perfect, with a pleasant swimming beach right next to the hotel and a short walk to restaurants and bars in the center of town.
Everything was good_ starting from the location📍, is reachable by walk to city centre and close to the station. Across the road there is a bar Sicily Bar whom one should try, apart from delicious food , the prices are very reasonable. There is a restaurant as well ,whom is burger🍔 lover which is worth to try, is called Io Eat & Greet. You can reach by walk & highly recommended. The breakfast 🍳☕🍞was delicious, room huge & very clean. Staff friendly & worth every penny.
Giorgio is a great host. Very welcoming and took care of check in and out easily.
The flat is located next to a wonderful beach, gorgeous sunsets just a few minutes driving from center Trapani.
There's a private parking lot, and the flat is well equipped to visit the beach (including umbrella and beach beds!).
Wifi was one of the best during our Sicilian trip, so it's definitely passable as work wifi if you need it.
Communication and check-in went smoothly, Annalisa kindly picked us up from the bus stop and allowed us to store our luggage for a later pick-up before catching the bus to the airport. We had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The location was great too: in the old town, with restaurants, bars and cafés nearby as well as near the port and bus stops to other destinations around Trapani. Definitely recommended!
Great hosts who made me feel most welcome. I was in an apartment which was super clean and equipped with everything you could need, including a washing machine. The mattress was the best I have slept on in Sicily. Great location - you just are so close to the main passiagata area and to the water on each side and the bus stop. Lovely breakfast served in a dining area. Thank you for your great hospitality.
This property was a pleasant surprise as we traveled around Sicily. A very comfortable property within the old town of Trapani that provided valet parking as a bonus. Very welcoming staff, an exceptionally presented room, lovely airy breakfast room all within an interesting complex. We highly recommend this property for anyone contemplating a visit to Trapani.
Lovely BnB, very comfortable. Owners are exceptional in their kindness and service to guests. On our first morning the owner took us for a tour of Trapani to the salt flats, beaches and port. The next day he drove us to the beach and the following day he drove us to the port to catch our ferry. Quite wonderful and highly recommended.
Matteo was a great host and was always really attentive to all our needs! He gave us a lot of tips about what to do and where to park the car.
The hotel is well located, at walking distance from the city centre. The room was very comfortable and the breakfast outstanding! Definitely recommended.
We spent two weeks in Sicily in different places and Belle Epoque was honestly the best place by far. The owner Matteo is very helpful, speaks great english and has great attention to detail. The breakfast was amazing with both sweet and savoury choices. Everything was clean and well maintained.
The staff were incredibly friendly, especially the gent working the bar in the evening. Our first visit to both Trapani & Sicily we have now decided we are going to return to this hotel annually. Perfect for a relaxing break away from the town (took about 20 minutes to walk to town).
We enjoyed our stay in Trapani so much! Apartment was pretty big and clean, our host was very helpful with everything we needed. Apartment also had big terrace to sit on in the summer evenings. I can surely recommend this apartment and I'm looking forward to come back to Sicily!
Best location in the old town. Right in the heart of the restaurants and bars.
Nice big sized rooms and bathroom.
We had a car, so had to park it in a open parking lot ( 4 euros for 24hrs ) which was a 11 minute walk from the hotel. Suited us as we only used it once a day.
The apartment is part of a complex, set in beautiful gardens on the outskirts of Trapani. To get to Erice or Trapani was an easy drive. The apartment was beautifully clean and light and airy. Shower was excellent and we had the best sleep there of our stay in Sicily.
Very comfortable, beautifully decorated and clean apartment. Perfect location, close to Trapani's biggest attractions, the port and the airport bus stop. Great contact with the host. We stayed there twice during our stay in Sicily and we would love to come back
We stayed here as a base for exploring western sicily and could not recommend highly enough! Very clean and comfortable acccodation close to old center of Trapani. Lovely staff who were very accommodating. We even receive some great restaurant recommendations!
Wonderful place to stay in trapani. Central location in the centre, close to all. Apartment is very clean, spacious, and great for family. Our host Enza was very helpful and kind. Hope to visit here again, many, many thanks.
lovely restaurant with fantastic food, brilliant breakfast with the best coffee we had in Sicily, great service so helpful and friendly, lovely pool and beautiful setting. really magical scenery, very peaceful.
The location was in the heart of Trapani, Sicily. The room was spacious and the windows were looking at the inner court. The check-in and check-out was very smooth. The owner was very nice and helpful.
Alessandro is great. Friendly, gives you all the information about getting around Trapani. The location is nice. Walking distance to the city centre, Erice cable car.
