The breakfast was absolutely excellent, home cooked and extensive. As a solo traveller, I felt very safe and at a home away from home! I can't wait to return to Hotel Mazzocca again! The view from the balconies out to the national park where also exceptional.

Hotel Ede is in the perfect location for exploring Majella National Park. Very clean and comfortable accommodation with plenty of parking, excellent food (we highly recommend dinner - the food was very well done) and very welcoming hosts who speak Italian and English. Really helpful with local excursions too such as trekking and horse riding.

Tutto, dalla struttura alla cortesia e disponibilità dello staff
Caramanico Terme is like many spa towns in Italy - its glory...
Caramanico Terme is like many spa towns in Italy - its glory days ended a few decades ago when the government cracked down on the racket of subsidising holidays in such places through the national health system. So the hotels here have not seen a lot of investment recently. On the other hand their simplicity is matched by their good value.
It still has a lot going for it - it is located in a beautiful area in the mountains of Abruzzo, close to the Maiella National Park, and is re-inventing itself as a centre for trekking, canoeing and such things.
The old town - downhill from the modern town with its 1960s-era hotels, is picturesque.
In the main street you will find a few bars, a couple of restaurants and a "birreria". All those I tried were good.
If you want to spend a couple of days walking in spectacular scenery, and don't mind old-fashioned but hospitable accommodation, this would be an excellent place in which to base yourself.

It's a really beautiful, clean, well-kept village.
It's a really beautiful, clean, well-kept village. It is a short walk from the centre to the entrance to the national park which is a wonderful, natural place. Although we didn't actually see any wildlife to speak of, we did hear bears calling and saw traces of deer. It's cooler than the lower altitude areas in summer, and the air is fresh, so it's a great place to get away to.

Perfecto, house away from the town.
Perfecto, house away from the town. The thermal baths however were difficult to book as they only open half a day and you must book before hand.
Perfetto, la casa è lontana dal paese, in mezzo al bosco. Tranquilissimo. Però per prenotare per per le terme è complicato e lavorano solo fino alle 13h30 dal lunedì al sabato.

Optimal place to stay for those who like hikeing/biking/...
Optimal place to stay for those who like hikeing/biking/tourskiing.
Many itineraries begin closeby. The dinners are ensured to be superb: the local cuisine is among the best of Italy. I strongly recommend the rastaurant "La Noce": you'll surely enjoy. Many locals would recommend "La collina del cavaliere", but thre they serve too large portions and after the appetizer you won't finish the first dish.

we reached Caramanico and Hotel Viola from Pescara by public transport. hotel Viola is close to the bus stop so in 5 minutes walking time we were at the hotel. all went smoothly. We found everything we needed for a relaxing and comfortable stay at this hotel. The restaurant offered delicious local cuisine and great pizza with a good value for money. The town of Caramanico is a little town (borgo) in the heart of the Maiella park. From the hotel it was easy to reach many paths like ‘Le scalelle’ in the Orfento valley.
Caramanico Terme is an elegant small town in the mountains and the lovely hotel is situated in a quiet suburb on the slopes above. The thermal spa is now permanently closed but the walks and hill towns in the area made it well worth spending a few days here. The breakfasts and dinners were delicious and David and Ileanna were very welcoming and friendly

Caramanico is a gorgeous small village deep in the heart of the Majella mountains, starting point for several fantastic hiking trails. A friendly and helpful staff runs this lovely hotel very close to both the spa and the Visitor centre. We had a large comfortable room with a balcony and delicious breakfast and dinner.
I only write reviews for exceptional places. This hotel exceeded every hope and expectation. The food was the better than the Michelin star restaurants we dined at this trip. The view over the valley was especially nice from the swing on the balcony. The owners were friendly and helpful for every request.
