Visiting Stromboli was the highlight of our trip to Sicily.
Visiting Stromboli was the highlight of our trip to Sicily. Watching the volcano erupt at night is unique experience. I know many people who have visitet Sicily but no one has come to Stromboli. Too bad for them. Climb Sciara dei fuoco to see the eruptions. Of coure you have to be used to walking, but it"s not too bad. I recommend visiting in low season, spring and autumn.

Great place. I'd love to come back and stay 2-3 nights.
Great place. I'd love to come back and stay 2-3 nights. One night was just a sample :) But if you prefer seeing more islands in one go, you can definitely squeeze a lot of activities into 24 hours.

There are not many places that you can literally live under the volcano hearing it's grunt and groans ,viewing the smoke emitted and the occasional flare of lava from the hotel balcony. However being so off season no tours or restaurants were open, only grocery stores, and the guided hikes or night boats were yet to come out.Self hiking up was limited by very concise caution limits due to previous activity from the volcano and the seismic situation .This was February. However with few tourists you have a distinct feeling of you against nature and the locals have time and inclination to consort with you and seem to enjoy it.Especially since we were stranded 3 extra days by inclement weather which downed the ferries so a caution in this respect.

Stromboli is an island of contrast, some people love it others not so much. For us it is perfect, the locals are friendly and have gotten to know us over our many visits to the island, the Volcano is fascinating to climb and watch as it explodes. Eating dinner either in town or at the Observatorio which looks up to the active craters. During the day relax on the beaches or take a boat trip which is available from several vendors, Recommend Chez Puelo based near Ficogrande beach. Boat rentals also available. Taxis are about but enjoy the walk into town and round the island, explore the side streets, for a small island there is so much to do.
Stromboli is a seasonal island with access limited during the winter period where lots of the tourist areas close, the season runs March-October with the busiest periods coming July-Mid September. Most of there tourists come on day trips from the larger Aeolian islands so aren't there late into the night. Bar Ingrid is great for a local Grenita and La Liberia bar has some mixed events with some great social nightlife at the weekend and a more relaxed experience during weekdays. This is a 2nd home for us and we will always recommend a visit but please treat the locals with the respect that they and the island deserve

Stromboli island is a unique earthy island with small shops and lots of restaurants. We only stayed 1 night. Took a boat tour around the island and took guided hike to view Stromboli eruptions 2 hours before sunset. Hike wasn’t too difficult through stunning scenery and a fair amount of shade. Around 2 hours including stops and guide info. Stopped at viewing platform for 1.5 hours. Sunset stunning. Eruptions so cool.
Recommend booking Observatory Pizza Restaurant (great at atmosphere) on the way down and leaving the group. It’s around 45 minute walk down from restaurant - pitch dark (torches essential) but trails not too bad.
Could have definitely hung out there a little longer, but we had an itinerary planned and moved on

Amazing opportunity to see an active volcano.
Amazing opportunity to see an active volcano. We walked (5hr round trip) to view the eruptions, took an evening boat trip and viewed from the Observatory restaurant - all excellent ways to see the the activity. We loved the narrow streets, friendly locals and delicious food. A peaceful place to visit with the right balance of nature and stunning village with small shops & restaurants. Worth more than a day trip - we stayed 5 nights.
Little paradise! Beautiful spot, the view of the vulcano and the sea from the terrace absolutely unforgettable. The owner is really kind and helpful. The room was clean and spacious, the marvellous well-equipped kitchen and the bathroom are located outside, just next to the big terrace where you could take a rest on the sunbeds. The house is placed outside the centre of Stromboli village, the most touristic part, so you can get away from all the noises and truly chill out here. Also, within 3 min walk you reach a nice beach.
The staff was super nice, excellent location right by the beach, beautiful room, beautiful pool with salty water and view of the sea, colorful room, very relaxed and pleasant atmosphere. The staff was so nice they offered to order us pizza when we came to the hotel at 22:15 very hungry and tired from our hike to Stromboli volcano. Also we got a free ride (a golf car kind of ride) from the hotel staff from the ferry to the hotel - we did not expect that so we were really happy. They offered to carry our suitcases to the room.
Very lovely complex. There were a lot of plants in the area in front of my room. The hotel has a great location - it's close to the center, but not right were allt the day tourists are. and also not far from were you want to go hiking. Everyone was really nice. I had a single room and i really liked that the bed wasnt a twin bed but a bit wider. of course it's on the rustic side but that's kind of the vibe.
The room was incredibly spacious & beautiful! Very cool pieces & the view we had of the sea / sunrise was amazing! The kitchen was fully stocked & there was an outside terrace! We did the sunset tour of Stromboli & it was amazing & informative! I would recommend this place to anyone & everyone!!!
Peaceful, idyllic, cozy, magical. One of the most inviting and creative lodgings we've ever experienced. We wish we could spend every vacation in such restful surroundings. The staff were extremely helpful and kind. Within easy walking distance of everything in Stromboli.
Great hotel in beautiful Stromboli. Right off the harbor, so it is easy to get to when getting dropped off by the ferry. The manager was helpful in making dinner recommendations to ensure we saw the volcano erupt. We had a great time and would recommend this hotel.
Very nice little hotel. Room‘s are very small but for 1-2 nights it’s perfectly fine. The garden is awesome and it‘s great to have breakfast there. For the price one of the best options you get in Stromboli!
Approx. 50 minutes walk until you reach L‘Observatorio.
Located in front of a lovely beach, a few minutes walking from the town center.
Room was spacious, although a bit minimal.
Breakfast was OK, lot of options, a lovely chocolate-filled croissant.
We didn't use the hotel's restaurant but it looked nice.
Located in the best part of Stromboli, this hotel has a wonderful location, as well as a view, pool and breakfast service. The staff offered advice for exploring the island and were always happy to help arrange taxis and tours.
The apartment is located next to the main street with restaurants, coffee shops and supermarkets. The place is very quiet and located in a nice garden. The atmosphere itself is just fantastic on the Stromboli island!
Perfect apartment for 1 or 2 nights with A/C. Also breakfast on the roof terrace is perfect. Very nice and helpful host.
Ideal location for trek to Stromboli fire show.
Best place I've stayed at in Italy so far;) Amazing view from the terrace, nice privacy, comfy bed, free coffee in the morning, nice lady. Stromboli is so cool!
