OMG the lovely lady who, when I called from the station organised a taxi to the hotel.
And then when I realised I was a little ambitious about public transport given my luggage, again organised a
taxi to my dad's home village

The location was perfect! We were able to walk the town at night, walk to grocery stores, shopping etc. The apartment was well equipped and spacious. The owner was easy to contact with questions and very responsive.

A great place to stop at for a few days if you're travelling round Abruzzo. The train ride from Rome was very easy, and we were able to visit Lago di Scanno and Scanno itself by bus. Sulmona itself has a fantastic historic town centre with lots of little streets to explore. We enjoyed some great food and the most memorable ice creams ... And of course, lots of confetti Pellini! We hope to come back again next year!

Very positive.
Very positive. Surprisingly large, pleasant old section of city with down-to-earth charm. Hardly any tourists - too bad because Sulmona has an excellent, first rate tourist office. Spectacular, snow-capped mountains. In the heart of little-visited Abruzzo where amazing medieval castles abound. Has a must-go to restaurant called Clemente. People friendly and welcoming. We went for family research and stayed for the pleasure of the town & region. Just be sure you don’t stay at the bed & breakfast place called Villa Del Poeta! :)

Sulmona is a smallish town with a medieval center.
Sulmona is a smallish town with a medieval center. It is a fantastic base from which to take day trips to any of 3 national parks, the Adriatic Sea, and museums galore. If you’re interested in getting off the beaten path but maintaining high-end comforts, Sulmona is ideal. Bonus: there are at least 2 restaurants in town that have earned Michelin nods and stars (Gino’s and Clemente).

Nice quaint Italian city on route through Abruzzi.
Nice quaint Italian city on route through Abruzzi. Piazza with aqueduct and views nice. Market day was fun. Mountain views with a gelato nice and can’t forget some sweet confetti. A few hours is enough on a drive through stop.
Beautiful room in traditional Sulmonese style (with modern comforts), great location, best views of Sulmona from the roof terrace. We were welcomed warmly by everyone. Inside the room, every need you could have was thoughtfully provided for.
When searching for lodgings in Italy, a lot of the results that come up look like glorified AirBnBs, and you’re not always sure what you’ll get. Rest assured, this is a hospitality business run by professionals who will make your stay in Sulmona even more beautiful than you imagined.
Excellent staff. Excellent room and excellent location. The rooms were extremely clean and very comfortable. The breakfast was prepared individually and was excellent. The hotel is run by a family and they are extremely attentive to everyone needs. Communication prior to arrival was outstanding. We were concerned about parking as we were traveling by car and they provided a pass to drive to the hotel to drop off the luggage and they went with us to the parking place which is 2-5 minutes walk to the hotel.
Davide is a fantastic host, very efficient and friendly. The location of the little hotel is great and we were there during the yearly Giostra Cavalleresca on the main square, which we enjoyed watching from the roof terrace. We needed to catch a train early in the morning and Davide made sure we could still have breakfast and got his mother-in-law to drive us to the station. It made our stay so much easier and enjoyable!
Linda was a friendly host and very energetic for an older woman and also very helpful with our local regional travel. The place was very clean and good value for money. Taxis were scarce so Linda drove us to the train as we left. Sulmona is a quaint old place with narrow streets but the locals were out in force at the cafes and bars. The scenic drive to Cansano on a narrow winding road was another highlight..
This beautifully designed, comfortable apartment had everything we needed for our stay in Sulmona. The location to the historic centre was excellent and the views from the dining room and outside patio were stunning. The lift direct into our apartment made it easy for us. The host was friendly and helpful and available to help with any questions.
The house was perfectly located, nested in a hidden and calm passage while still remaining at walking distance from the picturesque center of Sulmona.
Everything was scrumptiously clean and there was nothing left to be desired.
Germano, the kind owner, took time to answer all questions and makes sure you get the outmost of your stay.
The flat was extremely spacious and the terrace had a gorgeous view. It's an easy bus ride from the train station to Garibaldi Square, and a short 5minute walk! Angelino Home is situated in a perfect spot of the old city of Sulmona, in a quiet corner that is a stone's throw from historic town center!
Wonderful and characterful apartment right in the middle of the old town but quiet. The owner is very friendly and the apartment is fully equipped. There are some breakfast items left in the kitchen. Sulmona is a wonderful city to visit.
We had a problem with our renting car and the woman who is the owner of this hotel helped us a lot to resolve and to find a good solution. She knows very well what is a customer. We will not forget this customer service
The owners were very accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble. The apartment is in a great position in the centre of Sulmona near all the sites, bars, and cafés. I highly recommend staying here. Grazia Gianni
