This villa was gorgeous, in the historic Swahili style of Lamu. We had the loveliest time here. The location is relatively quiet though you are in the middle of town - we walked everywhere easily. There is also good Wi-Fi which was great for us as we were working remotely on some of the days. The rooftop has a lovely breeze and sitting area where the Wi-Fi reaches. There is also a very nice sitting area around the small pool. Jamhuri, who welcomed us on arrival, was friendly and easy to communicate with. With enjoyed every moment of our stay and I would definitely return again.

Full house ready for guests! The typical Lamu courtyard is the center of it all, a serene space from which all other rooms emerge. The three-story building (475m2) with roof access offers an amazing view of the Indian Ocean under the makuti (typical roof construction from the area made from palm leaves) which protects from the rain and sunshine. This results in a beautiful, spacious and very comfortable house with "Milele House" as the name. The Villa has a total of three rooms, we offer the full house or the rooms individually: big, medium and smaller room. There is also an extra bed but it can only be used for those booking the full house. Just to be clear, there is only one villa and the booking option is your desired arrangement. There is a house keeper that will try to make your stay as comfortable as possible, he has his own designated room and bathroom downstairs (not shown in images) . Regarding payment, we have a policy where guests pay 50% of the price before hand, preferable through m-pesa, and the rest on arrival. If a guest cancels at least one day in advanced, we will return the funds in less than 7 days. If you request it, we will send someone to the airport to pick you all up, and bring you to the house on a boat for 1500ksh. We also have a chef that can be called if you are interested, only breakfast is 500ksh for 1-4 people and 1000ksh for 5-8, and a full day of cooking would be 2000ksh regardless of the number of people. Keep in mind this is just service fee, all the food required for cooking has to be provided. We also offer a tour around Lamu with a local family friend who has lived here his entire life and knows everything there is to know regarding the history and culture of the town, it is 1000ksh per person.
