We stayed at this hidden gem with our family of 4 during a rainy period. The hotel and garden are beautiful and clean. The view is amazing. It’s located outside of the city, which we really liked because it was peaceful.
The personnel of this hotel were super friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good, more than enough food. We had dinner once in the restaurant and recommend to try the Sri Lanka curry.
My oldest son, my husband and I had a very relaxing afternoon getting a spa treatment very good with reasonable price. This place is definitely worth a visit.

If you are traveling from Colombo and back 2for one night stay in Kandy the plan should be 1. Breakfast at Ginadasa Thalaguli restaurant 2. Visit Gadaladeniya Temple 3. Lankathilaka Temple 4. Peradeniya Royal Botanical Garden (take the electric car) 6. late Lunch at Royal Mall Peradeniya 7, Strait to your Hotel check in 8. around 4.00 pm You may visit Sandagiri seya (Sthupa at the top of a mountain) 9. Then the Famous Temple of tooth relic (Before 8.00 pm) 10. Dinner at KCC 11, Back to Hotel. Day 02 on your way to Colombo. 12. Pinnawala Elephant orphanage (Elephant bath at 2.00 pm) 14. Lunch at Pinnawala 15. Pinnawala zoo (I didn't go) 16. Back to Colombo.

A cultural eye-opener.
A cultural eye-opener. Lots to see and do - but most major attractions are spread far from one another. Expect to take a couple full days touring Kandy and the surrounding areas. Two of my strongest recommendations: the British Was Cemetery. The caretaker has tended the graveyard for decades and knows each detail about each soul laid to rest. Also a sight worth seeing is Peradeniya University. A remarkable campus that lives up to its reputation as one of the nicest in all of South Asia.

The botanical gardens was amazing and really value to visit.
The botanical gardens was amazing and really value to visit. I didn't interested to see the famous temple and another one important thing is in commuting hours the traffic jam was remarkable and every one should calculate staying in the traffic in their schedule .

Transit point to big attractions in Sri Lanka. Ie.
Transit point to big attractions in Sri Lanka. Ie. Ella, Sigriya, Dambulla and Polonaruwa. Gateway to mountainous region of Sri Lanka. Kandy is also a historical town with famous Temple of Tooth. This town is best served with affordable eateries and several modes of transportation. Cooler weather compared to the Sri Lankan capital city, Colombo.
This was a peaceful and beautiful corner in busy Kandy. The room was spacious, with huge terrace, lots of windows, perfect view. The bathroom very comfortable and modern. The hotel is brand new with beautiful details. The breakfast was the best for us during our long journey in Sri Lanka. Sri Lankan specialities, with a lot of explanation about local cuisine, ingredients. The hotel owner was super helpful, we got a lot of good ideas for our journey. The location is perfect, just above busy Kandy, on the hillside, 5 mins from Lake.
We had an amazing stay in Galaxy City hotel. The rooms are very clean, spacious and fully equipped. The property sits at a great location, a quiet area with a wonderful view from the balcony yet within walking distance from the city center (around 800 meters). But what makes the place stand out, is the people who work there: both the manager and the staff are extremely professional and incredibly friendly and helpful. All in all, Galaxy hotel is a great choice for a stay in Kandy, highly recommended!
Hidden gem just a scenic 20-min lakeside stroll from Kandy town! As you amble, the iconic Tooth Temple unveils itself - a visual treat. The hotel promises spaciousness with generously sized rooms. And the buffet breakfast? A delightful spread of both local and Western delights that will leave you more than satisfied. A word of advice: keep those balcony doors shut; the cheeky local monkeys might just pay a surprise visit. All in all, a delightful Kandy experience. Definitely worth a stay
Outstanding views over Kandy from my suite, extremely welcoming staff and delicious food. Thank you to Ajith W. and the team there for an amazing stay, always willing to understand the customer needs and making sure they can provide the best service at the hotel. I had the pleasure to meet the chef for a cooking experience, really worth trying! I also got a list of ingredients to be able to cook the most delicious sri lankan curry! I can not wait to go back again. Thank you
The hotel is amazing, rooms are spacious and very beautifully decorated. The view on the mountains from the terrace is breathtaking.
Rooms are clean, cosy and comfortable.
Very friendly and professional staff. We had tasty Sri Lankan breakfast with variety of dishes prepared specially for us.
Hotel is hidden up in the mountains, if you enjoy walking, in around 40 min.it is possible to walk down to the town, observing the area around, or you can take a tuk-tuk.
Rooms are very clean.
Bathroom was exceptional. Good water pressure and didn't take long for hot water to click.
Staff was very helpful and made my stay easy and comfortable.
Location was great as it is in the middle of the Kandy city and you can walk to shops and temple of tooth.
I also went to Bahirawakanda by tuk tuk and it's very short distance from the hotel too.
This hotel is one of the best hotels I stayed in Sri Lanka.
Neat clean with all amenities one would need. The staff very thoughtful and helpful. The owners of the property very thoughtful and caring about all are needs. Lastly the breakfast was awesome!!! Best we had eaten anywhere with so many variety of fruits and got the taste of real Sri Lankan food. Huge selection of buffet.
Highly recommend a stay at my city hotel the price of the rooms were very affordable.
The best hotel we stayed at during our time in Sri Lanka! Amazing views across Kandy lake and the staff are all lovely, going above and beyond expectations.
We would especially like to mention one of the managers Asanka who went out of his way to ensure our stay was nothing but spectacular.
Would definitely recommend this hotel if you’re staying Kandy, you’ll not be disappointed.
This hotel is very close to the Temple and the lake and right in Kandy.
All the double rooms were very clean and we had a nice balcony room.
The reception staff and breakfast staff were excellent. Very helpful and friendly.
The top floor bar was excellent, air conditioned and two balconies.
Breakfast was buffet style with some traditional Sri Lankan food.
Hotel was very reasonable. The owner is very friendly and helpful and also his staff is very very polite, he tried to fullfill all our wishes. Owners wife, is cooking excellent sri lankan dinner's, this is a must try !!!
Located in a quiet area of Kandy, taxi or tuk tuk required. (Otherwise a walk is required to reach the hotel)
The hotel is centrally located and can be easily accessed via a short walk from the lake round. The rooms were modern, well kept and the staff were attentive. Got a good deal in terms of pricing despite it being the tourist season in Kandy. Highly recommend not just for solo travelers/couples but also for families with kids
The word that comes to mind is classy. Beautifully appointed comfortable room. Impeccably clean. The balcony has a view of the garden and surrounding hills. Wifi was the best we had in Sri Lanka. Good location within walking distance to town and a few temples. Gracious and helpful hosts.Look no further!
Great central location in a peaceful area near the lake. 15 minutes walk from the temple. Clean room, comfortable bed, cold air-conditioning, English TV channels, ok wifi, shower has good water pressure and plenty of hot water. I've stayed in three different hotels in Kandy, and this is my favorite.
Jaye's homestay features cozy rooms with great view on Kandy town. The host is very helpful with advice and even lended us some utencils. You get option of Sri lankan and english breakfast and I recommend to take the Sri Lankan because it is delicious. with a lot of local fruit
For the price paid, there is nothing to complain. I've paid similar prices and had far worse hotels in Sri Lanka. This hotel is basic, but I does everything properly. The two gentlemen working below clearly want to do the best for their guests.
Amazing luxurious hotel, in the heart of Kandy. Wonderful staff. First hotel we stayed in that has an elevator. Good food, quick service, very clean and comfortable. Best place we stayed in Sri Lanka with a wonderful view from the balcony
