After a lot of walking, the Rijksmuseum is a great place to rest and get some extra culture before visiting Amsterdam’s lovely Vondelpark.

The medieval Old Centre with the always busy Dam Square and the tempting Red Light District is the most visited part of Amsterdam. Make sure to stop at Leidseplein and Rembrandtplein, homes to the best nightlife venues.

Shop till you drop at Amsterdam’s most luxury shopping street, PC Hooftstraat, the most popular street market at Albert Cuyp or in the fancy design shops of the Jordaan district. Famous pancakes and frites with mayonnaise are a must-try! The more adventurous traveller might want to try the pickled herring, followed closely by a local beer.

Amsterdam, as many other cities in Europe, it's a wonderful city, with many interesting and must places to visit. It's difficult to find other cities with such a traffic "configuration": buses, trams, cars and bikes running on same track (bikes more separate tracks). I stayed for 3 days but could need 5 with a tidy plan to cover as many as possible interesting points. And cheese!!! It's a must city in the world.

Beautiful interesting city. packed with lots to see and do.

Beautiful interesting city. packed with lots to see and do. Art, culture, food and history - this city has it all. We loved the Ann Frank museum and Van Gough Museum as had been prepared and booked our tickets well in advance. We did a wonderful walking tour and canal tour (both a must) as well as a semi-private tulip tour and visit to Keukenhof gardens. Shopping was excellent with all the usual big name stores plus numerous boutiques, jewelry shops and high end fashion. "The Nine Streets" was a brilliant area that my daughter (14) and I loved. I found the red light district fascinating however a little busy and quite dirty (trash on streets etc). I much preferred the streets outside this area although it is very interesting to walk through at night time.

Came principally to go to Keukenhof Gardens, so didn't explore Amsterdam or visit any other sights. Lot of infrastructure/building work taking place around the rail station area which means some pavements are out of bounds. Rail station and its shopping mall are spotless. Very easy to navigate the various types of public transport. Recommend buying the IAmsterdam card. Ate at FIONA which was fun.

Amsterdam is a very nice and very interesting city because of its location and canals inside it. Both modern and historical buildings, roads, bridges , towers etc. make a good fusion .There are very nice museums , that you can see both modern art and classical . Paintings from famous artists can be seen (Rembrandt, Van Gogh etc.). Inside the city, public transportaion is very comfortable and effective with good alternatives. Although it is a little bit expensive (especially restaurants) with respect to other big european cities, it is definitely worth to visit the city.

Tried a few local Asian shops and lovely to see them flourish including Malaysian, Asian, Japanese etc. Interesting to walk around town in the small streets and cross the bridges. Right season to come and see the tulip and flowers. Favourite place was walking up and down the city center musuems and buildings including the RLD. Also recommend the Heineken factory experience. Most of the sights are walkable or can rent a bike.

It was our first trip to Amsterdam.

It was our first trip to Amsterdam. Our hotel was centrally located which allowed us to walk or take the tram to most attractions. There is an excellent public transportation system in Amsterdam. We loved the Van Gogh Museum, a very interesting exhibit which tells the story of the man and his art. The Anne Frank House was also really interesting. We booked the introductory program along with the tour which I would suggest to others. We also enjoyed the Heineken Experience. It was quite interactive and lots of fun. On our last day, we took the train from Central Station to Zaanse Schans which was about a 20 minute train ride and then a 15 minute walk from the train station. This is a very busy tourist area but very unique and enjoyable. Lots of historic windmills, cheese sampling, wooden clog carving, etc. This is a great activity for families but certainly enjoyable for everyone.

The hotel is situated a 2-3 min walk from the train station that takes you directly into Amsterdam Central station only 1 stop and very frequent this is an excellent location. You are not directly in the city centre so not as expensive to stay but very easy to get into centre. Total journey from hotel room to centre is no longer than 10 minutes. You can also get a direct train to and from the airport. It is highly convenient. The beds are comfortable, the hotel is clean and modern with a sort of pop art design and the bathroom is good.

This is an exceptional property (villa) with an incredibly friendly and professional young staff. The attached restaurant and bar are a great added benefit as well. As a bonus there is a small (free) parking lot adjacent to the villa. This is by far the best value and quality of accommodations you will find in Amsterdam.......and it's only a short 1.5 mile walk to the city center. We took inexpensive Uber rides or walked so we could fully enjoy the pubs and coffee shops of Amsterdam!

Great value for money. Rooms were larger than any other hotel I had previously stayed at in Amsterdam. The rooms were spacious, clean, modern, quiet and with a great view of the Singel canal. Fantastic location for loads of key places. Walking times from the hotel to city centre / dam square (10 minutes), museums (20 minutes), Rembrandtplein (5), vondel park (20) Jordaan - 9 streets (10) Anne Frank (15) Tram 24 goes from Centraal station and stops outside the hotel.

Location is perfect, in the canal district, everything within walkable distance and so many boutique shops nearby. Hotel lounge/bar is very beautiful and so are the rooms. There is also a super cute cat in the hotel lobby to greet guests! I guess she’s the manager? I rubbed her belly everyday. :) I have stayed at quite a few hotels in Amsterdam over the years, from $300/night to $1500/night places. This is arguably THE best hotel for VALUE.
