Called the 'City of Sails' due to the large number of yachts anchored in Waitemata Harbour, Auckland is the largest city of both New Zealand and Polynesia. Built on the Auckland Volcanic Field featuring about 48 extinct volcanoes, this city truly offers a blast!
Auckland is a real cultural mix with strong Asian, European, Maori and Polynesian influences, celebrated in frequent festivals and sporting events. Some examples of these cultures can be seen at the Auckland War Memorial Museum, one of the best in New Zealand. For more, try the upmarket dining of the Viaduct Harbour.
Another must-see is the tallest free-standing tower in the Southern Hemisphere, the Sky Tower. If you’re feeling up to the challenge, you can even perform the Sky Jump, a controlled base jump from 192 metres!
Climbing the volcanic cones as well as the stunning Auckland Harbour Bridge will provide unforgettable, panoramic views of the city’s skyline. For a different perspective, why not try a cruise or sea kayaking?

Auckland is a must visit, a single visit is not enough though. You will never forget the experience. A good place to unwind. Lot of places to stay suiting all budgets. Lot of reserve areas where you have walking paths away from the hustle but drive right to the spot.
beautiful beaches.

We loved the friendliness of the people we spoke to.
The roads are great but during our stay there was major road works on nearly every road we travelled.
Great signage to assist us getting around.
Fuel is very expensive but it did no stop us from travelling around most of Auckland.
We are definitely coming back again.

I love how I can just walk across and get into my room.
I love how I can just walk across and get into my room. You get off the plane, you're tired and my feet were swollen, what a treat to crawl into bed especially when your flight arrives at midnight. Service was great, check in was 5 minutes.

Tonys steak and seafood restaurant is also a must for the best fillet steak in town
A trip on the ferry to Waiheke island or over to Devonport is a great option
Prepare to do a lot of walking. Auckland is easy to navigate but one word of warning is that it is steep !

The Viaduct harbor area has great 'feel' about it, loved sitting in the harbor restaurants and watching the world go by.
Plenty of food options to choose from.
The ferry terminal is a 5 minutes walk from the Boutique viaduct apartment.
I took a ferry over to Devonport, inexpensive and the ferries run frequently all day and into the evening.
Walking around was ok for me but if you have walking difficulties possible you may want to reconsider your destination.
That written the information center is close by (very helpful ladies) and sorted me out a trip to the geysers.
There are plenty of outlets close by if shopping is your thing.
Mcd's and other fast food outlets as well.
Maritime museum is well worth a visit.
Stacks of photo opportunities in the area.
If sailing is your thing, there are plenty of yachts to choose from.
The Wynyard Quarter (a short walk over the bridge) offers many restaurants of different tastes.
The Sky Tower (good views of Auckland) is within walking distance (20 minutes from viaduct harbour) but some hills to walk up.
It did get chilly when the sun went down so would recommend a light jacket or hoody.
I stayed in Auckland for 4 days, I did everything I want to do.

We went to pink.
We went to pink. Was there 4 days we trained and ubered to other suburbs was fantastic.
Panda mart was amazing I had to get a suitcase ro come home with all the stuff I about.
Uber eats was easy.
Loved Auckland definitely be back.
Close to South Auckland and the Airport with generous parking. On site restaurant is good but with a limited menu options if you're staying for more than a few days. There is one local Indian takeaway otherwise have it delivered. The Yellow bus works well also as does the lounge display of flight status at Auckland Airport. It must be OK as this was my 4th visit. Beds were generous and crispy. Shower was large and hot. WIFI was fast enough for CAD files.
Everything was fine at this hotel except for one main thing.
Auckland CBD continues to be a long-standing subway construction-nightmare and sadly this hotel is in the middle of it.
You can get around ok, but driving in it is nasty, and it’s also just a horrible look.
Perhaps it will be completed this year, but for right now, I’d stay away from the construction. Down by the Viaduct for example.
We've been staying here for 23 years. The property is located close to town. The bed is comfortable and we always get a room with a view. The room is larger than similarly priced rooms in Auckland CBD. Breakfast is generous. Price is cheap for what you get.Free parking too. I don't like city driving so the bus being only $1.10 to town from right outside the driveway is fab. $8 for an uber.
The room was very comfortable. The location was good, close to city bus stops and two hop on hop off bus stops. The restaurant on the property was good, we had dinner there twice during our stay. Everyone on staff was friendly and helpful. Local tour companies would pick us up at our hotel because of its nearness to downtown, as did the airport shuttle.
Great location, friendly staff, comfortable room, good wifi. They allowed us to extend our checkout time when requested.
Location is a 5-10 minute walk to Auckland harbour and another 10 minutes to Marina and Auckland city centre and all main sights & restaurants. Good selection of shops and restaurants close to the hotel as well. Not a noisy area.
Superb location for Auckland City Centre. The bathroom had been redecorated, it was clean and loads of hot water for the shower. The room was compact but comfortable with loads of shelf space to put things on. The lift was from the 1950's but worked OK and added character to the hotel. Great value for money.
the location of the place is very strategic, so close to University of Auckland. Access to CBD is also easy, only 15 minutes walking. the room is okay, bed is comfy enough. I also have the washing machine and kitchenette with all the necessary utensils and amenities. Across the hotel is a lovely park as well
The facilities and quality are alost all to a very acceptable standard. The location is perfect for any business or activity in or near the CBD. Good breakfast included is convenient and a good reason to select this hotel. The availability of the SkyCity bus from the airport is an added bonus.
It is clean and interior looks new. Near to restaurants, some shops (mostly selling Indian clothings) and a shopping mall with Countdown, Kmart available. Free parking. About 10-15 minutes drive to CBD, Harbour Viaduct, airport and nearby cities or suburbs like Manukau, Sylvia Park etc.
We would definitely recommend this place, people at the reception desk are very nice and helpful, we were even upgraded for free to better room with balcony and view to the SkyCity tover. The room were nice and clean. The hotel is walking distance to all downtown Auckland happenings.
The room was a little run-down but it had a lovely decor and the little courtyard was nice. Good facilities in the room (microwave, fridge, kettle, toaster, tv). Nice size room. Parking was relatively cheap compared to other hotels around Auckland.
We were in Auckland for one night prior to our international trip. The Ocean breeze hotel is situated in a quiet area within 30 minutes of the airport in off peak times. Free parking. Great views. A little dated but a great start to our holidays
Love the location close to Spark Arena, all amenities within 5min of Hotel. 5 - 10 min walk to the city. Easy access to all motorways access to Sothbound northbound and to the West aide of Auckland i12ks or so to the Trust Arena West Auckland.
The lock box was well located. Comfortable stay and location is great, close to airport. 30 min drive to Auckland CBD during off peak timings. Getting in & out of the motorway is very easy. Wifi worked well. Overall, a good experience.
we were taking a cruise out of Auckland New Zealand. We were able to wheel our suitcases from the hotel, the 2 1/2 blocks to the cruise terminal. Wonderful breakfast. Great staff! very clean hotel.
Very close to the airport and good facilities for a budget hotel. There is plenty of free parking and a great bistro next door and supermarket and other shops and dining close by.
