Bethlehem is a welcoming and safe city to travel !
Bethlehem is a welcoming and safe city to travel ! It has some local attractions such as the nativity church, mosaic centre, Pro Terra Sancta community centre, market, or just bars and restaurants. The great thing about Bethlehem is that through Palestinian shared taxi services which act like buses you can reach all West Bank sites such as Jericho or Ramallah.

Overall, except the Nativity and St.
Overall, except the Nativity and St. Catherine church, and the areas surroundings Bethlehem which require a taxi (Shepard's field, St. Sava and St. Theodor), there is not much to see there. I initially went by mistake to an area which is a refugee camp, called Aida Camp. This was not the safest experience for a solo woman traveller especially if coming at the evening, if taxi dropping you at different location (at the checkpoint), provided incorrect information by the guesthouse staff in terms of safety, staff not at the guesthouse location at the time of arrival and upset that you are upset that you had to wait two hours in cold weather, in the evening at the doorsteps of the guesthouse. At last, I felt extremely unsafe, especially after the reception staff whom I had to wait for two hours outside at the doorsteps was "sensitive" when I was telling him how upset I was. Scary experience... Please be mindful when you book the guesthouse... Unless you look for a refugee camp experience...

We felt very safe. Plan to return.
We felt very safe. Plan to return. We found in Manger Square the best deals on olive wood. The people were so nice. Some things are made in China and others not. Did not like the kids coming up to us during dinner with gum expecting us to give them money. The restaurants did not either.

I went to Bethlehem during Christmas time, I took a city...
I went to Bethlehem during Christmas time, I took a city tour with a private guide recommended by the staf/ owners of the guest house and he went out of the way to please me on food requests that I had and he was very knowledgeable of the history and the different sites we visited. I couldn't have asked for better weather. The only advice I have is to better travel in slow season, Bethlehem had a sea of tourists and sometimes very difficult to see the important sites.
But the best choice was the Herodium Guest House, owned and managed by a local family, I could have stayed one month with them, very warm, helpful and attentive to your needs! I'll do it again in a heart bit.

Bethlehem was very disappointing.
Bethlehem was very disappointing.
There literally are two historical / religious places, and an insane amount of shops.
After a few hours spent there, I was genuinely stressed out - the amount of taxi drivers stopping me was ridiculous, the amount of sales people stopping me was insane. What’s even worse, they really use people’s kindness and good heart for their own profit.
I would absolutely not come back, nor recommend it.

We visited the Church of Nativity. It has many tourists.
We visited the Church of Nativity. It has many tourists. We were not able to enter the birthplace of Jesus. But it was comforting to note that this is the birthplace of the Savior of the world. Around the manger square there are many restaurants. You can choose what you like to eat. Some of the roads are narrow. It is quite difficult to navigate because of the traffic. It is better tow walk from the hotel. But then climbing up is a challenge for some who are identified as senior citizens. However, it is memorable.
I was here two nights.
Room was spacious and light and big balcony with an incredible view! Make sure you ask for a room facing the south east. Sunrise view.
Exceptional help from the owner. Gave me great instructions on how to get from Jerusalem to Bethlehem and to the hotel. Kind and helpful staff.
Free tea coffee water.
Great shower
Good location to walk to the churches. Some up and downhills, but still only ten mins walk.
Safe and secure place.
It went far above my expectations, so thank you very much.
Modern guesthouse, very clean and comfortable. It was reasonably priced compared to other locations in the Bethlehem area. Very easy to get to by taxi from checkpoint 300 (also walkable). Of course the most unique feature of this hotel is that it is inside Aida Camp, which allows visitors to see for themselves what life is like on this side of the wall, in a camp. It is just a short walk from Banksy's Walled Off Hotel (7-10 minutes), and about a 25 minute walk to Manger Square/Church of Nativity.
Recently refurbished property. the facilities are new and very clean. great location if you have a car, you can park the car just in front of the hotel. It’s only just a few minutes drive from Betlehem basilica.
The staff very attentive and ready to help us with anything we needed. They allowed us to use the mini kitchen for a quick dinner. Bottled waters provided all the time at request.
Overall really great stay in Betlehem/Jerusalem.
Incredible arty hotel in an unusual spot, right by the division wall. My room was spacious and nicely decorated with bizarre views of the wall. The hotel has an impressive art gallery and now a new exhibition about the history of the conflict from the Palestinian perspective. Very interesting and enjoyable stay. The lobby bar is also a great spot to hang out over a drink admiring the art pieces all around.
We had a really very pleasant stay. The hostel is centrally located in Bethlehem, right on the beautiful Star Street. As neighbors you have a bar, a drinks store and a small restaurant everything you need.
We were very warmly welcomed by the staff, got lots of helpful tips and a free tour of the city. The hostel is very clean and modern and hip furnished. I am really looking forward to my next stay!
The hotel in Belem is very beautiful, my room was spacious, the bed was very comfortable and very clean. The staff were very attentive and friendly. They answered all of my questions and they gave me directions to the Church of Nativity. It had only been 20 minutes and I have enjoyed looking around and getting to know Bethlehem a bit more. The breakfast was also very good.
This reservation was booked incorrectly online should have been Bethlem PA, USA 🇺🇸 not this hotel in another part of the world. So payment was made directly to hotel & hotel confirmation # was sent with contract info. Tried several times to fix no response from hotel through text. They could communicate with my email but I couldn’t respond with information they provided.
I enjoyed the services , a clean hotel and so friendly staff! GM Mr Fares Bandak offered us when we arrived a free ride from the bus stop to the hotel as we were first time there. And receptionist Mr Hana helped us printing our check in! Excellent position in Bethlehem , 10 min walk straight direction to Manger Square ( Nativity Church and Omar's Mosque )
So friendly , peaceful, historical, comfortable and full of history . Lovely comfortable big bed and coffee and cake available in the dining room at almost anytime . This hotel is also part of the L'Arche project which teaches young people with learning needs different skills and gives them employment opportunities and quality of life .
It’s a lovely property, located 10 minutes walk away from the Manger Square as well as the separation wall graffiti.
the flat was very clean, shower was scorching hot and we even had a heater in our room. All the common areas are very spacious and the hosts are super welcoming!
We loved Mustafa’s tour of Bethlehem too!
The rooms are clean and comfortable. The location is great. Close to restaurants and shops. It is within walking distance to the church of Nativity in Bethlehem. But you can also take a taxi for $5 to any place in town. The hotel has few rooms. So it is very quiet.
Lovely modern guesthouse, large rooms, very close to Manger square, the church of nativity, and old Bethlehem market. Up on the hillside, with views of the Judean hills. Rooftop lounge. Family run business, everyone is so helpful and welcoming. Loved this hotel
Fantastic customer service right from check in. Amazing food. The art gallery and museum inside the hotel are worth a visit. Rooms are clean and brimming with Banksy artwork. Well worth a visit if you are in Bethlehem!
This apartment was very large and extremely well positioned for getting about Bethlehem. It afforded great views over the town and was extremely well appointed with all amenities including kitchen equipment etc.
Nahida and Jack are fantastic hosts, very kind and helpful! Very clean and cosy rooms, beautiful patio and dining room. Excellent location in Bethlehem with Nativity Church just across the square.
The appartment is newly renovated and is very cosy. The host Rozana was very helpful and responded quickly to our questions. A facilities are ok and it is a nice place to stay in Bethlehem!
The hosts are very kind, the rooms comfortable, the Church of Nativity 2 minutes to walk, the view from a balcony bright and you see the sun going down upon the roofs of Bethlehem
The location is close to Nativity church. It's a new look and beautiful hotel. It is clean. The restaurant is fabulous with flavorful food and the price is reasonable.
Very nice and clean hotel in a renovated former palace, located in old town of Bethlehem, only short walk from the Nativity Church, very good breakfast
