I loved my little bungalow on stilts at the Rasta House. The room has all the basics that you need like a mosquito net, toilet, shower and wash basin. there is also a fan that is great to cool you down. Great balcony with a hammock and chairs that you can chill out on and invite friends onto for a sundowner beer.

first of all we would like to thank Khun Dew and her whole team! we had a very pleasant stay and enjoyed everything. I recommend the front row, the peace and quiet depends largely on the neighbors and we were lucky. great breakfast and really nice and hospitable team !

What a beautiful, mostly unspoilt island, lovely beaches, jungle and no cars! Laid back atmosphere. The food was amazing, much, much better than in Koh Tao where we are now. Lovely local people. A real gem - let’s hope it doesn’t go the way of Koh Samui and Koh Tao.

The Island is incredible - beautiful, lush and lovely to explore by scootie, cycle or walking. Our fav restaurant was The Kitchen Table run by Chioko. Best brusketta and place to hang with sweet kitties and dogs. Also Flower Power has excellent Italian food. We loved our stay in Bamboo Bungalos. Can’t wait to go back! Pure heaven.

The weather, the scenery.
The weather, the scenery. The beaches were all stunning and the sunsets at JJ Beach resort were amazing!! Plenty of good restaurants on the island. Can personally recommend Flower Power and Cha Chai Hime for vegetarian food.
All round good vibes on the island.

Phayam is a paradise of older Thailand. (No MacDonalds!!!!)
Phayam is a paradise of older Thailand. (No MacDonalds!!!!) The Thai and Burmese that live and work on the island are always friendly, helpful and HONEST. Getting around the island is easy and cheap, whether by foot, motorbike, bicycle or motorbike taxi. The food is delicious, with a variety of cuisines for those who want a change from Thai or Burmese food, many of the foodstuffs are sourced locally, including seafood caught from the sea surrounding Phayam, food and accomodation are very affordable, I have been coming to Phayam for ~ 8 years now and won’t stop.
Nothing if you are in the second raw bungalows.
We booked for 5 days and looked for another place the very same day we arrived. The location was terrible, the view was to a wall from the bungalow in front, totally overpriced, and they kept telling us that if we didn’t like it we should talk to booking.com. Needless to say that the tv, the air-conditioned didn’t work,… total rip-off.
They are lying to you when the sell the second row bungalows!
Very nice and friendly staff. The owner even arranged our transfer and hotel for our next stop.
The Bungalows were the nicest we had in Thailand so far and the breakfast was very delicious and changed every day (not the standard toast and marmalade). We really enjoyed our time at the island, especially because we felt very comfortable in our Bungalow
Great location very close to the beach, lovely restaurant, amazingly helpful staff, bungalows are super clean and the bedding and towels smelled really fresh and clean! Our host was fantastic, always a smile, and he even gave us guests a little present for Valentines day! We would love to be back!
Could hear the sound of the surf from the bungalow and I love swimming in the sea. Dining on the beach was super and the restaurant food was very good. Bungalows were comfortable and clean. The resort didn’t overwhelm the nature. The cost was a real plus; JJ’s delivered great vacation value.
Friendly and helpful staff
Great location to one of the beaches
Easy to sort travel to the other main beach
Some shops and restaurants close by
Friendly cats on-site and lots of nature! Lots of butterflies, sometimes hornbills
Free transfer to the pier when leaving the property
Everything, soooo peaceful.
Before I came i read the reviews and there was one or two saying bad things?
Don't come if you're expecting 4 star hotel comforts but if you like nature and don't mind a fairly basic experience (i think you know what I mean?) You will love it x
I liked the huts that were located directly on the beach. They looked kind of cute, minimalistic but had everything we needed. Beach is amazing. Coffee in the morning at the hotel’s restaurant was amazing. I didn’t try the breakfast but it looked really good too.
Bungalows were nice, clean and full of feeling. Location is good, easy to ride bike to every compass point. Staff were very familiar and kind. They made good food and Thailands best coffee and green tea. Easily our favorite place to stay on Koh Phayam!
Near beach is good only on morning, Hotel look like hotel because on Koh Phayam very little resort or bungalow service like hotel, Staff helpful when you asking, fine and peaceful places, restaurant menu lot of kind.
- Very nice and professional staff
- Excellent location on the beach
- Cute rustic bungalows
- Peaceful garden with hummingbirds and other wildlife
- Good restaurant on site
- Possibility for laundry
Place is really nice actually. Bungalows are very chill and view is nice. Also I liked the hammock very much. Staff was friendly and open for us, when they accidentally overbooked us.
The island itself is amazing, Rasta House is right next to the beach with the best sunset views and the bungalows are a very good price for what you get. Also super friendly staff!
-great location at beautiful beach with amazing sunsets
-tasty food
-nice host
-rent motorrollers directly at hotel for 200 Bht
-blanket was provided directly after asking for it
Everything was fine but unfortunately the bungalows were sold out and I had to sleep in a tent which I did not like. But I cannot complain, it was an offer, and I accepted it.
Close to the pier. Perfect location for exploring the island. Host is very accommodating and will help you with anything you need. Wonderful accommodations. We will be back !
The staff was really friendly and welcoming. The bungalows were clean and dark! The Beach next to the bungalows was for us the most beautiful on Ko Phayam.
