Situated within a few steps of Kahalu'u Beach Park and 1.7 km of White Sands Beach Park in Kailua-Kona, Big Island Retreat features accommodation with seating area. Private parking is available on site at this property. The accommodation offers a shared kitchen and private check-in and check-out for guests. At the guest house, the units include a desk. We are a unique, family-owned property consisting of 11 guest rooms surrounded by tropical landscaping, singing birds, and the sound of the ocean. We welcome you to come enjoy our little piece of paradise on your next Hawaiian vacation.

Please note that Big Island Retreat does not have air conditioning -- our style is "old-Hawaii" living with screened windows and ceiling fans that catch the Kona tradewinds. The architecture and arrangement of the buildings encourages open-air living with ocean and/or garden views creating a natural and relaxing setting. The main house consist of 3 levels with an atrium and common area located on the entrance level, four guest rooms occupying the 2nd level (Seaside, Orchid, Bamboo, Pineapple), and our Ali'i Suite located on the top level with a magnificent view of Kahalu'u Bay. The guest house has 6 guest rooms: Paradise, Aloha, Oceanview, Maile, Honu, and Surfer. Our community "outdoor" kitchen is popular with guests as a gathering place to share meals, talk story or enjoy a cold beverage. It's simple, casual and has the feeling of being in paradise.

We are conveniently located across the road from Kahalu'u Beach Park, one of the islands premier snorkeling, swimming and surfing beaches. Closely located to the Keauhou Shopping Center and restaurants, shops and much more. Town trolley service stops and Kona town about 7 miles or 11.2 km.
