Don’t trust the web site pictures!
Don’t trust the web site pictures! The bottom floor is unusable due to odor of mildew! We couldn’t get in until the second day due to a faulty key pad and that’s after a maintenance visit which did not fix the problem…another phone call to booking.com was not the way I wanted to spend my time!!!
The furniture on the second floor was so dirty with stains, dog hair all over furniture which transferred to our clothing. NO wine glasses! One dish towel, seriously just one😒.
The outside deck has siding off laying on the deck next to animal dung, no joke and not funny to us!
So many areas of chipped paint, broken blinds, dirty rugs, fridge did not keep drinks cold.
Wish we had had this review before we stayed, we wouldn’t have considered it and would definitely not again!!
Reviews matter…Hope this one helps other families looking for a safe and clean stay! The beach view and the breeze from the ocean was nice.

We love Galveston but staying one night at Casa del
Mar in a room with a balcony facing 61st St did not impress
One night plus cleaning fee made this more expensive than other options. We stayed here to see east coast friends who stayed at Casa Del Mar an entire month
What breakfast options? The very nice woman who checked us in did not say anything about breakfast

The hotel we stayed in was filthy.
The hotel we stayed in was filthy. The trolleys do not run where they’re supposed to when they’re supposed to or stop when they’re supposed to. It was a nightmare. On top of that you have to take a shuttle from Houston to Galveston or get an Uber. Will not be returning to Galveston
We travel to Galveston several times a year, and usually stay at the BWP, since it's great price for value (even though prices went up quite a bit, but that's the case everywhere thanks to LGB). The hotel offers a good continental breakfast, has a well kept hot tub, that is actually hot and has working jets. Both queen and king rooms are very spacious, have wooden floors, cozy beds, balcony with ocean view right on the seawall. The staff is awesome, especially Canyon at the front desk is also one of the reasons for us to come back!
Recent and tasteful restoration of a Victorian era house.
A walk round the block took in some delightful Galveston architecture.
Close enough to the beach and some good dining.
As visitors from overseas, we loved the Gumbo Diner for delicious, simple, Southern cooking.
Perfect for families with young kids.
Our 6 year old grandson really loved the custom-built bunk beds and the slide in the rear garden.
Spotlessly clean and with all the facilities one could wish for. .
We loved it. Thank you, Robin.
I am madeeha Mansoor just checked in to Galveston location room and unfortunately it’s the biggest scam I have ever witnessed.
While choosing hotels I selected homes2 just because it had a balcony view. As others were present at lower rates.I paid $152 for balcony view and the room they gave me is balcony on garage roof with smoke and no view at all.
So pathetic.
You wasted my entire vacation night. Just writing a review online wouldn’t even make up for my time out if the busy schedule.
The view of the ocean was great, and the location was good. Not as busy as the more touristy area to the east. Our room was very large, and spacious.
Breakfast included was super. Pretty busy at breakfast time, but we managed to have a table every day. There was a pair of people who I would consider to be food hoarders, which disturbed me a bit, because of the wastefulness of it. It costs the hotel money which eventually gets passed down to the more considerate people in the end.
The hotel location is great and the parking was convenient. I loved how large our room was and how comfortable the beds were. The view from our balcony was gorgeous and it was so nice to be able to step out on the balcony to smoke without having to go all the way to the parking lot just to have a cigarette. I would absolutely stay here again and would recommend this hotel to anyone whose planning to visit Galveston.
What a stunningly beautiful place! from the entryway, front desk, cafe, and rooms we were blown away at this historic hotel! the high ceilings in the rooms were amazing and the bed was soooo comfortable! the food in the cafe was a BIG surprise. it was classy, delicious and served with kindness and a smile. we will only stay here from now on, when visiting Galveston!
This is a very good hotel in a convenient location to most all of Galveston Island. The staff was courteous & helpful and the room was more than comfortable enough for my family. They have a business center and a fitness work-out room.
The "free breakfast" was also an added bonus to our stay.
Everything was good ! Staff was so accommodating , rooms were clean and location is great ! Only down con I would say is the pool , pool is kinda small. Other than that it was an awesome stay ! Thanks Galveston Beach Hotel West staff ! Definitely staying there again when we come back !
Very thing was really nice and went well I stayed in room 350 thanks so much for everything. the beach was so beautiful and it was so nice that I was just across the street from the hotel resort. Our family really enjoyed it. God bless!!
The room was comfortable, quiet, the guy at the desk was very nice and made us feel welcome
The coffee tasted great the breakfast was really good.
The best place I've stayed in Galveston so far out of 4 hotels!
Location was good, room was okay. It did look a little bit worn but it was clean and the bed was decent. Everyone is trying to weather the financial storm and I am sure the hotel industry is no different.
The rooms are large and comfortable. The hotel is pretty. The staff is so friendly helpful. The breakfast and social meal were both excellent. This will be where I stay whenever I come to Galveston.
I love this hotel! the atmosphere, the decor, the friendly staff. the remodeling looks amazing. have stayed here before and will continue to be my hotel of choice when visiting Galveston
It was well located on the beach but not in the supper busy area. It was great to see that breakfast was normal and not using Covid as an excuse to go cheap. Well done.
