Excellent hosts. The owner and son go out of their way to make everyone feel welcome. Particularly at breakfast (which was freshly cooked and very nice) they are a great source of information about events in town. The hotel was very flexible about changing our dates (after I stupidly booked the wrong month…), which was outside of their policies and much appreciated. The building and our room were very comfortable, clean and well positioned to explore the river walk and mission trail.

This location is perfect if you want to be in a quiet place away from city noise but still walk to the Alamo in 15 minutes. The owners/operators are great - friendly, helpful, flexible. The breakfast is homemade to order by the owner with optional seating on a patio alongside the river and riverwalk, surrounded by trees and quiet! The street is only one block long and ends at the river next to the hotel which is a former family home.

Love our rooms, all 3 rooms went out to our own balcony! With the best view of the beautiful river. Home cooked breakfast was delicious! Staff made our stay feel at home. Looking forward to coming back 💜

Born and raised in San Antonio, I enjoy good conversation, wine and travel. I'm a practicing dentist and in 2014 I acquired Inn on the Riverwalk, which was the first Bed and Breakfast I stayed at two decades ago. I enjoy providing a comfortable, friendly, home like stay in a unique setting for our guests. In my spare time, I enjoy the lake, beach and my kids.

Property information

The Inn on the Riverwalk is a charming Bed and Breakfast with thirteen rooms built in 1916. We are the hidden gem in the heart of Downtown San Antonio just steps away from the San Antonio Riverwalk. At this private oasis surrounded by gorgeous greenery you would never know you are a short eight minute walk from the hustle and bustle of Downtown with a thirteen foot waterfall just down the river that tunes out the noise of the city. With the Inn being right on the Riverwalk you can sit back, relax and enjoy the Riverwalk from the large decks and patios with awesome views of the river and the skyline. Very Romantic! The dining room area has tables for 2-4 so you can have all the privacy you want. Plus we serve a Made to Order Hot Breakfast from 8:30-9:30, so you can eat at your convenience. Let us know us know if you have dietary preferences so we can be ready to take good care of you!

It is rare to get an urban location near everything you could want and yet it feels like a natural, quiet and serene environment. We are just a few steps from the Riverwalk and a short distance to all downtown San Antonio has to offer! This a great area for people who like to walk or bike. Lots to see and enjoy. We are close to the city bus, VIA, stops.
