I grew up going on family vacations to Pismo Beach so I am biased. Probably the best kept secret of the California coast. Beautiful wide beaches, great restaurants, wine country a 10 minute drive from the beach and lots of other cute little coastal towns to explore for a day trip. You could spend all week laying on the beach or going someplace new every day. And nothing beats a Pismo Sunset!

Pismo Beach was nice, but the Edgewater hotel was too crowded, the parking was really crammed, and the area looked a little scary. I thought it would be nicer. The bed was very lumpy and lopsided and uncomfortable.
If things go wrong and you don’t arrive early enough and miss most of your first night, don’t expect any niceness from the hotel staff and getting a late check out like you would at other hotels. They do not care!

North Pismo Beach, including Shell Beach Cove area, and Avila Beach (just north of Pismo) are very nice for walking and sightseeing. Avila Beach has a very long interesting history. Downtown Pismo traffic was bad and the old town area might seem "funky" classic beach to some.

Love the beach and pier, small downtown with shops, easy access from highway.
It's also 10-15 minutes from Avila Beach, Madonna Inn, and San Luis Obispo. It's 50 minutes from Solvang. Paso Robles (with Sensorio) are also pretty close. Morro Bay and Montana de Oro park with cool hikes are around 40 minutes away. It's just a great location to get some beach views and explore the area.

This is a charming little town with lots of shops and restaurants right at the beach. I'd say that there's enough to do downtown in one day, and then another day you can explore explore nearby. a weekend is perfect.
Because we stayed at the Pismo Beach hotel. We would go out how breakfast at the cafe. Right next door walk around and look at the shops. Go to the beach, call my quebec to the hotel rest and then go back out to try one of the restaurants..

I'm a local in pismo beach and my fiancée and I have been coming here to this hotel regularly for mid week breaks. By far my favorite hotel in area. Rooms are warm and cozy, staff is delightful and care about their guests enjoying their stay, views are perfection, pool is heated and surrounded by glass barrier for wind protection, breakfast is delicious. This hotel is very romantic and the perfect getaway. Smaller than the larger hotels so less noise and people. Pool area is like being in hawaii !! Love this place!!
It has fire pits
A great location
No noise from other guests rooms
A lot of things to do were within walking distance.
The only complaint is that when the guests bells is was smoking marijuana , it seeped into our room upstairs. There were times we had to shut our balcony glass door it was so bad.
We didn’t come here to have our patio door closed. We wanted to enjoy the view and sounds of the ocean waves.
I’m not blaming the hotel for that.
I blame the inconsiderate rude guest.
This hotel was so much better than we expected. The staff were so friendly and helpful. There was even the offer of a free shuttle bus to the pier. Facilities were great with a free drink at happy hour and a wonderful breakfast for free! The room was very big with separate lounge area. Some of the cupboards looked a bit worn but it really didn’t matter. We really enjoyed this hotel. More impressed than we thought we would be.
I first stayed in this hotel 25 years ago when I was a teenage on holiday with my parents. Remembering how unique it was I had to stay here on a trip with my own children. The hotel has obviously been refurbished since then but it still retains a lot of character. The lady that checked us in was lovely and our room was very comfortable. The easy parking was very helpful. We had breakfast at the adjoining cafe.
Breakfast was a big improvement on the morning fare in other hotels because there were options that were low sugar, wholemeal bread was available and the coffee was good.
The view in the oceanfront room spectacular and worth the extra cost make sure to request a second floor room.
The pool was absolutely gorgeous, heated, supersized and deep.
Easy check-in, room prepared early. Parking right at door. Lots of luggage carts that actually work! Location is awesome ... We've been visiting Pismo Beach for almost 40 years, and this is our new 'go-to' venue for vacation lodging,
The views of the ocean and pier/boardwalk. The “smallness” compared to other hotel properties facing the beach. Easy check-in and check-out. Nicely appointed rooms. Great staff.
I appreciated the location of the hotel to the beach and pier. That was great and made it convenient to walk everywhere. I am planning a summer visit already with the whole family.
King room was exactly what I wanted
Front desk ladies were fantastic
Exceptional view of ocean from hotel
Pool and hot tub were excellent
Clean and comfortable
It was excellent! We had an ocean view room which was so nice! We had the best view ever and we enjoyed the hotel very much! We would definitely come back!
