The common space was great especially during our trip when it was freezing and so windy. Didn't get to utilise the fire place or sit outside. Camping pods were great.

Lovely tidy glamping pods. Great place to get off the beaten track and see the stars. There is just enough of everything you need. Take some burgers for an alfresco evening meal. Had a lovely open fire in front of our caravan pod which was great on a chilly desert night. The owner is still developing the site so hopefully it will get better and better..

Even though we arrived a little late in the evening, the explanations sent by the host in advance were really helpful and we could access our cabin without any difficulties. We really enjoyed the common facilities and the spirit that the host gave to the place! We were alone with only one other friendly couple, so the evening was very quiet and enjoyable. The beds were comfortable and all bedding was clean. We only stayed one night and did not use the bathroom, but the fake snake in front of it freaked us out in the night with our flashlights and we laughed a lot about it the following morning ! :)

This is the kind of place where you either 'get it' or you don't. If you're after 5-star luxury, look elsewhere. If you're after something unique and are happy with what is effectively comfortable camping, then Tarantula Ranch is a truly amazing place to stay. Cooking in the outdoor kitchen whilst watching a spectacular sunset, and then finally sitting down with a glass of wine under an incredible star-filled sky makes for a very special evening, I can guarantee. The camping trailer beds are comfortable with heating and air-conditioning; the outdoor toilets were clean on arrival and the shared outdoor bathhouse and shower just added to the experience. Brandon was a very welcoming and friendly host and, although busy working on adding even more amenities to the property, took the time to greet us, show us around and talk to us about the business... and introduce us to Vintner, the desert tortoise, of course.
