The town looked neat and tidy and I love the old architecture and quaint buildings and cozy little shops. With my own transport it was easy to get around and find parking. Met friendly staff at all the shops.

Was quite surprised by the wine tasting opportunities nearby in Calitzdorp. The Safari Ranch was great, Cango Wildlife Park was exceptional, excellent managed facility. The Buffelsdrift Game Lodge elephant experience was a bucket list type experience. The Chandelier Game Lodge Buffalo as well as Giraffe experience was awesome.
The Total Garage opposite the quaint Nostalgia Restaurant are friendly and have decent wood that is affordable. The Spar is well stocked and there is an emergency Clicks Pharmacy that supports that requirement.
All and all a pleasant holiday destination with many activities to plan over the course of a week visit.

Cango Caves - do the adventure tour.
Cango Caves - do the adventure tour. Conservation Centre - as ethical as sanctuaries open to the public can be, see a huge range of animals. Meerkat Tours - fun and cute but quite overpriced and the owner is horrendously misogynistic. Nostalgie restaurant - food was amazing, however park immediately in front of the restaurant and not any further - there are 'parking attendants' that demand money, and even after paying one the others come and intimidate you (banging on the car and throwing gun symbols).

Perfect place to stop over for the night or two.
Perfect place to stop over for the night or two. Other than that there is not much to do here.
You can find big supermarket for every day shopping. We eat at hotel restaurant as not much choice. A lot of powerful like in most places in SA, just got to be careful where and when you go out.
We stayed at Pictures Boutique Hotel this weekend for a bussiness trip. We were so impressed with the service, cleanliness and the staff. Eric is outstanding and the food of top top quality. We stayed in Luxury room the smallest in the establishment and it was more than we expected. Everything is world class. The generator was a luxury in the state of South Africa we weren’t affected at all.
I will most definitely tell all to visit this establishment.
We were in Oudtshoorn to participate in a marathon. We requested breakfast packs for the morning of the race which were prepared for us the night before and given to us on check-in. We enjoyed the breakfast on Sunday morning in the breakfast room.
The hotel is well located in town, near restaurants and easy to navigate run route.
The bed is king-sized and super comfortable.
There is enough parking on the premises and it's near the rooms.
The hosts were very flexible on an early checkin and also on dietary concerns. They were also quick to upgrade the room stay. Very easy to work with and a beautiful property. The AC was great and the power was on despite blackouts nearby. They also were not trying to upcharge me for the special meal or for an Ostrich Farm tour in addition to the Meerkats.
Perfectly designed farm cottage. More than enough self catering cooking equipment. So nice to see. Electrical and gas cooking available. Two hot plates. Small oven. Gas hob. Full fridge-freezer. Braaivlies facilities. Wi-Fi in cottage - even during load shedding. Netflix etc. Aircon. Wonderful strong shower.
I have stayed at this hotel many times over the years when we come for the annual dog shows. At first they did not accept dogs then they did and made our stays fabulous even putting all the dog people in the conference room for dinner and let us bring the dogs in it was a wonderful evening.
Great location beside river in Oudtshoorn
Very comfortable room
Fantastic breakfast and secure parking included
Amazing value
Exceptionally helpful and enthusiastic host made our stay perfect
Excellent local restaurant 5 mins walk was recommended by host
The property was clean and fully equipped for your self catering needs. The grounds are large and well maintained which was perfect for our son to stretch his legs and run around. The setting is stunning and the owners were very accommodating.
Everything about this guesthouse is first class. Superb hosting. Daniel and Sonia run a lovely business and care passionately about the enjoyment and comfort of guests. Our stay in Oudtshoorn couldn't have been better. Thank you.
Facilities are all well managed - very clean and neat. Location is great, nestled amongst the hills near Cango Caves. Our rooms lacked for nothing and had more than enough utilities for a family of six.
Beautiful relaxing setting. Well appointed self catering large accomodation with everything you need. Comfy beds with electric blankets...needed in winter. Loved the buck and ponies. Perfect location.
What an incredible stay. Like a boutique hotel, from the welcome to the final goodbye we had the best time. Beautiful rooms, great location and top guest service.
Lovely grounds and well located between Oudtshoorn and the Cango Caves. We had a tent overlooking the river with views of ostriches drinking from the river.
