Copperleigh Trout Cottages is located on our beautiful working sheep and cattle farm in upper Dargle on Route 3 of the popular Midlands Meander of KZN. Our 10ha Mavela Dam is stocked annually with trout and is considered one of the premier dams to fish at in the Midlands. Guests can enjoy complimentary fly fishing on a catch a release basis. We have two very comfortably appointed, fully equipped self-catering units on offer for guests. The romantic log Cabin is right on the waters edge and can accommodate a couple. There is an open plan lounge and kitchen. TV with Android TV (Netflix, DSTV Stream and Showmax included). It has one bedroom with a queen size bed, an oil heater, en-suite bathroom featuring a heated towel rail and a shower. The outside braai/grill area overlooks the dam and the most amazing sunsets! The larger double story Lodge unit can accommodate up to 9 guests in 3 bedrooms, and features 2 bathrooms with showers. DSTV Premium is included in this unit. Large indoor fireplace for those cold misty nights. Complimentary WiFi, a bundle of firewood, as well as a kayak and housekeeping are provided daily for each unit (Sunday Housekeeping will incur an additional fee). Guests have use of the stunning hiking trails on the farm as well, which overlook the dam and iNhlosane Mountain nearby. Guests can see and interact with the farm livestock including: Red Brangus/Bonsmara cattle on the farm, Dohne Merino Sheep, Indigenous Veld Goats as well as the smaller animals such as chickens, guinea pigs and ducks! We have a standby generator to provide electricity during emergencies when the power is out for extended periods. During loadshedding there are come rechargeable lamps available in both of the units. The Cabin WiFi and lights are on a solar battery system. *Pet Policy: We are dog-friendly for small dogs only, must be pre-arranged, a pet levy will apply.

A qualified IT technician and Photographer, I manage this family owned farm which has been operating since 2012. We opened our first cottage for guests to stay at in July 2017. Our small staff compliment ensures that we are always available to answer any questions as our guests well being is very important to us.
