Himeville Arms, hotel in Himeville

Set in Himeville, 200 metres from Himeville Museum, Himeville Arms boasts an outdoor pool, barbecue and terrace. Free WiFi in the communal lounge area. Each room comes with a private bathroom.

We booked online only one hour before our arrival as we weren't sure how far we would be able to travel on that day. It was very convenient to be able to do this. Very handy having a restaurant onsite too so that after a long drive we didn't have to go out.

We were in a lodge and our friends were in the next one.

We were in a lodge and our friends were in the next one. We all ate together. A Meal was supplied the first night as arranged. It was roast chicken and all trimmings and was delicious. The next night we had a barbecue with loads of meat provided. We had chicken piri piri and chicken curry. Everything was very tasty. We went to Himeville by taxi from San Lameer. It was a 4 hour drive but interesting route. We went up the Sani Valley pass to Lesotho which was a long and challenging route in a Land Cruiser. That was an organised day trip. Amazing views. We would not have gone to San Lameer for a night if we come again. We returned direct to Durban.

I didn't realise that the trip from the Howick turn off was 160kms long, the road had many potholes, so better to drive it in the day time. I loved the museum, the Christmas market and the Angora weaving place. The people were very friendly and helpful. Definitely worth a return visit.

Himeville is a sweet little country town with a weaving shop, antiques shop, quite a few nice restaurants and cafes, and a very informative museum run by volunteers as a labour of love. It is close to the hiking trails and Sani Pass.

There was not much that was good at this facility. The showers were of poor quality. The doors didn't close. The lighting was poor. The rooms were.dark. Poor parking facilities. Old and musty smell feom tbe rooms. There was no television or wifi.. the toilet leaked continuously. We booked 4 nights and left after 3 nights.

Peaceful place, scenery is amazing with beautiful views of the mountain. The food is delicious, especially dinner- thanks to the Chef and catering staff. The price for nibbles very reasonable. The bar is a lovely place to unwind after hiking. Very friendly staff and superb service. A great location closer to Sani Pass Lesotho. I will definitely visit again. The Spa could be more accommodating.... I arrived an hour or so before the close but could not slot me in😑. Had an early tour the next day, so we missed the Spa.

Very nice and quiet premisse, with a lovely garden. Everything is well maintained. The room was great, spacious and comfortable. We had a nice breakfast, good variety of the standard eggs and bacon. Location is perfect for your excursion to Lesotho. Book at Sanipassprivatetours.com and ask for David; you'll have an excellent experience with him! Besides going up the Pass, there's not much in Himeville. For dinner, they booked us a table at the Moorcroft Manor. We can recommend that as well.

Such a wonderful place to stay for a day tour of sani pass. our tour operator picked us up from the location. was spotlessly clean, tidy and modern finishing touches. on check in our host made us dinner reservations at a hotel/restaurant a little further down the road. breakfast was cooked to order and ready in a matter of moments. top marks! an overall perfect pleasant place to stay and would highly recommend.

This place was clean, quiet, with plenty of room to roam. Cute little creek running through pastures with easy access to town and Sani Pass. The staff was communicative and helpful. Providing every convenience. Even if experiencing loadshedding, there was emergency lights, candles, lanterns, and propane cook top. The bathrooms had generous soaking tubs...with plenty of hot water.

Resort territory. Very classy. The Food was exceptional. Dinner and Breakfast was a buffet and excellent. The location was spectacular. There was plenty of activities to do, throughout the visit. I would classify this place as one of the best places I've stayed at in South Africa. Amazing! Rooms were very clean and comfortable. Roomy. Internet was extremely fast.

I'd like to express a huge appreciation to the hosts who helped us a lot when it happened that our car broke down. There are many hosts who can handle positive travel scenarios and just a few who can handle negative scenarios. Those hosts are the latter which is great. And for the rest it was a normal accommodation on the farm — good room and breakfast.

The location was excellent and very close to Sani Pass. The breakfast was excellent. The communication from the lodge was much appreciated while we were travelling and the allowed a late check-in due to a flat tyre. Silindele also offered to call a tyre company for us.' Electric blankets and a fireplace. view from the terrace

The most beautiful accommodation I stayed during my time in South Africa. Ripon Cottage is truly a gem. Host was courteous, easy to work with, and had great suggestions. The home was impeccable - clean, with all features I could expect and more, and a jaw-dropping view of the mountains. 100% will stay here again on my next visit.
