On a scale of 10 I would give it a100 ..the best place ever to be so serene and tranquil the only sound we heard was of birds, it was extremely clean and we had everything at hand so homely..The hosts were God sent 🙌🏽always willing to help their response when you needed something was very quick and they also go the extra mile to make you feel welcome..I'm definitely going again you wouldn't say that it's in Joburg inside its like you are at a faraway place from the city.

Whether you are visiting Jozi, our City of Gold, on business or pleasure, or just passing through, Seven Palms proudly extends an escape from stress. Unwind in our contemporary and luxurious self-catering retreat under whispering palm trees on oak-lined Dover Street in the centrally located suburb of Westdene. Seven Palms offers free uncapped WiFi and a quiet work space for those on business. Otherwise simply relax in your home-from-home with a braai (barbeque) by the swimming pool, or snuggle up indoors with board games & puzzles and take in the latest Netflix movies. If you prefer not to get creative in your own fully-equipped kitchen, explore the area including a visit to the famed 7th Street eateries of neighbouring Melville, the bohemian centre of Jozi City life. For a dose of nature, take a stroll down to the Westdene Dam just 450 m from Seven Palms, or join a guided tour in the nearby nature reserve and ancient historic site of the Melville Koppies. Above all, reach out to calm, experience tranquility, and rejuvenate in comfort.

A point of interest: when Calum & Sean first set eyes on their lovely new home, Sean immediately conjured up a name for the property - Seven Palms. If you happen to count the actual number of palm trees on site, you may conclude that their are more than seven. But if you care to examine closely, you will find a surreal and somewhat cheeky clue as to why Seven Palms remains the name of the property! Calum will be your point of contact during your stay who is ably assisted by Thandi - our trusted executive house-keeper.
Originally part of Braamfontein Farm (est. 1853), Westdene is nestled between historic Sophiatown, trendy Melville, Westdene Dam, & Melville Koppies Nature Reserve. Popular bohemian tourist destination Melville is home to 7th Street and 27 Boxes (a shopping nucleus built from repurposed shipping containers) with a proliferation of restaurants, bars, cafes, arts & crafts, delis, & bookstores. Nearby 44 on Stanley is a favourite for lazy lunches in mediterranean-styled courtyards as well as upmarket boutiques, lifestyle shops, and a killer chocolatier! Sophiatown was a vibrant multi-racial home to intellectuals, entrepreneurs, progressive politics, and jazz from the 1930's. It was flattened to the ground by the Apartheid regime from the mid-1950's & renamed "Triomf". In 2006 the area regained its original name and today, the Trevor Huddleston Memorial Centre stands as a tribute to Apartheid resistance & offers historic walking tours of the area. Also worth visiting are Johannesburg Botanical Gardens, Gold Reef City Theme Park and Casino, Red Bus City Tours, Origins' Centre, & the Neighbourhood Goods Market.
