The breakfast was delicious and it was great that it was varied for the two mornings we stayed there. The burger basket was also good. We loved the gardens and the beautiful restaurant. The children, and my husband, was amused by the alpacas! It was also great that we could ask for the hot tub fire to be lit while we were still in Hermanus, to have it nice and warm when we came back.

It has a delightful small town feel about it with restaurants and shops. There is a friendly, laid back atmosphere whilst Hermanus is a short drive away with its numerous attractions. In short it offers all the attractions of Hermanus whilst being in a peaceful rural setting.

We stayed 10 minutes outside of Standford.
We stayed 10 minutes outside of Standford. It seems to be a very relaxed quiet town with quite a few restaurants and coffee places. Saturday seems to have a market and there are several antique/art/gift shops to browse around.

: You MUST really be honest about the flies and the extreme noise due to the wind. We could not sleep with three families. Children cried. 1 family left a day early. Never experienced such a bad thing during any of my stays. You should change your name to AfriCramping instead of AfriGlamping.

So we had an interesting experience being "marooned"...
So we had an interesting experience being "marooned" after a flood of the Klein river that turned into a "Groot" river which washed away the approaches to the bridge. The owner Cameron was fantastic in his communication with all his guests and his efforts to get us out a day later after making sure we were all provided for with food etc. His generator ran intermittently allowing us have light etc Heating was by fireplaces lots wood provided A great place Really nice comfortable accommodation Breakfasts need some more imagination and a restaurant on site would be perfect Will go back in the summer
For our first visit to the Stanford region, it was certainly a beautfiful surprise
The 2 Oak trees, gaurding the property offered wise stillness and space holding. while the mountain range itself holds a prominent resonance. A still dam to bath in at the foot of the mountain range after a walk over the hills, was a delight, while the horses hold a special energy when you stop and feel their gaze. Wonderful hosts, peaceful surrounds, spoiled with a cosy running fire throughout to keep things warm during a beautiful cleaning rain.
Coot Club is a wonderful addition to the south coast of South Africa. The boathouses are divine - beautifully furnished with extraordinary views. The Spookhuis is a gem - and those milkwoods around the dining area are priceless. The pizzas on Friday nights are perfect and the light lunch was just what we wanted after a long walk to the sea and a kayak. Ben and Michele were both very warm and welcoming and helped pack cooler boxes and organize dinner last minute on the first night.
wonderful small cottage in a beautiful garden in the Stanford. Everything you need to relax and enjoy. We stayed there for 4 nights. Good location to explore the surrounding area of Gaansbai, Cape Agulas and Hermanus. Small, nice restaurants in the little town within walking distance. We also had a fantastic finedining experience at Sprinfontain Wine Estate with gourmet food. Excellent and recommended😊
Absolutely stunning and peaceful stay at this lovely farm. The cottage was beautifully furnished and well equipped. The farm itself was lovely, with lots of chickens and donkeys and alpaca. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The food baskets we ordered were absolutely delicious and a great idea for an evening braai, you don't need to take anything with you. Can't wait to go back.
Buchu is a charming historic house in a lovely location with a pretty garden with views to the mountains and the Church Steeple. The Veranda at the back was particularly good. There were welcome extras like tea, coffee, rusks and cooking ingredients. The owners were very helpful and friendly. Good books and info in the house. Felt like proper Stanford home. Can highly recommend.
Loved our stay. Very comfortable and with a lot of character. Everything provided you could possibly need (even a lemon for our G&Ts!) . Spotlessly clean. Friendly owner. Beautiful pool set in a lovely garden - definitely bring your cozzie! Very centrally located - walking distance to restaurants and pub. Will try and stay here again when we return to Stanford!
10 Vlei Street is a beautiful, spacious open plan cottage with secure parking. The wonderful garden with lots of birds was a bonus. The cottage is within walking distance of everything in the village and near the river. The hosts was very friendly and accommodating and we will definitely stay here again when visiting Stanford in future.
The Lodge at the Springfontein estate is a short drive from the main Barn where meals are served.
We happened to be alone with no other booking that weekend.
I believe we were moved to a slightly bigger room with a direct view onto the river.
This was lovely.
Beautiful property with actively working farm. Plenty of friendly animals. The staff was also very friendly. The vineyard is beautiful and the wine is delicious the accommodations were situated beautifully at the foot of the hills.
Great place to relax. Quiet. It is little bit away from Stanford but that's the magic.
Paradise for children. There are donkeys, pigs, lamas..... You can feed them, pet them.
The staff will organise anything you need.
The location was superb and the house is a gem! it has all the comforts one can ask for and more. The fact that it located on the river and have access to kayaks, a pool, walking distance access to town is great!
There was nobody to meet us. We could not find the keys. We phoned the owner but he did not answer. Voice message said that he does not answer calls. We must send an e-mail. We had to book a room in the Hotel.
What a beautiful stay in Stanford. I loved the attention to detail and the personal decor touch of the cottage. Paul, Lorraine and Karin were excellent hosts and made us feel more then welcome. We'll be back!
Loved the location. Right on the river
Great value for money and everything you need for a fantastic weekend away. Juanita was exceptional and could do enough to ensure a comfortable stay
The owners were amazing! Really helpful and attentive during the flooding of Stanford.
The town pulled together amazingly and everyone helped where they could.
