This traditional coaching inn is located on the west side of Northgate Street just past the Town Hall and near Chester Market. The Pied Bull was the winner of CH1 Chester Bid Customer Service Award for Best Hotel/B&B 2019.

The pub was lively and had consistently delicious food. Our room was nice, clean, and spacious. It was also in the town centre so it’s close to everything a tourist would want to check out or do. The staff were super helpful and approachable.

I liked how close it is to the inner city. 5 mins walk to the next 24/7 shop. The kitchen is good equipped. The shower is really nice. There is plenty of room to get a bit of privacy.

We had a nice spacious room with a big comfortable double bed and 2 single beds. Receptionist was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant was fully booked for dinner but breakfast next day was tasty and plentiful. The host was welcoming and warm. There were usb points in the room for keeping our phones and watches charged.

The staff were attentive and friendly, the evening dinners were good quality 'pub grub', but priced accordingly. The full English breakfast was excellent. Access to Chester city centre by bus was a good surprise, with the bus stops not far from the lodge.

My wife and I had a very enjoyable stay, at this excellent guest house. The owners and staff could not have been more helpful. The room was of a good size and the breakfast excellent. We knew before we arrived that they didn't offer dinner, however, there were plenty of places locally to eat.
