What a fantastic little find. Very nicely updated and appointed rooms. Lovely large bar and restaurant. Staff was friendly and helpful and the local canine customers were delightful as well . Would definitely recommend to anyone exploring the Western Lakes.

I liked this place a lot. The room was gorgeous and way bigger than I imagined it. Their outside patio is lovely and relaxing. The little church adjacent is full cool history if you are into that. But the thing that really needs mentioning is the food is incredible. This was by far the most most amazing Vegan Cheeseburger I’ve ever eaten in my life. I’m not exaggerating.

We got there late and hungry, they kept the kitchen open to make us a beautiful dinner. Also in the morning they made my food with my request due to my sickness. Thanks for their patience and great service. This hotel location to steam train and Muncaster Castle is only few minutes drive way, you can walk there too. We had very nice experience staying there.

If you are looking for a remote country feel...this is your place to go. The Inn is just a stones throw from Scafell Pike, Wast Water ( England's deepest lake ) and St Olaf's Church ( the smallest church ). Food was excellant and a decent range of drinks. There is also a cosy small open hearth in the bar. Room was adequate size with comfortable bed, wardrobe, large TV, tea and coffee facility and free bottle of water. Excellent hot shower. Nice bar with log fire, very good choice of evening meals and well kept real ales. The breakfast was excellent. Quiet lounge for residents too. Huge car park. Strong wi-fi. Staff were all very pleasant
