What a fantastic little find. Very nicely updated and appointed rooms. Lovely large bar and restaurant. Staff was friendly and helpful and the local canine customers were delightful as well . Would definitely recommend to anyone exploring the Western Lakes.

If you are looking for a remote country feel...this is your place to go. The Inn is just a stones throw from Scafell Pike, Wast Water ( England's deepest lake ) and St Olaf's Church ( the smallest church ). Food was excellant and a decent range of drinks. There is also a cosy small open hearth in the bar. Room was adequate size with comfortable bed, wardrobe, large TV, tea and coffee facility and free bottle of water. Excellent hot shower. Nice bar with log fire, very good choice of evening meals and well kept real ales. The breakfast was excellent. Quiet lounge for residents too. Huge car park. Strong wi-fi. Food was fantastic, we had breakfast and dinner on both nights. It was perfectly located for our planned trip up to Scafel Pike. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. The place was extremely busy in the evenings and the staff did well to maintain such great service. Rooms were comfortable and out four legged friends were made very welcome!
