Fab setting, lovely clean room, comfortable bed, and an amazing view out over the bay. Met Meg booking in, and Josh covered breakfast. Nothing was too much trouble, all the staff were friendly and helpful. Had the house burger for dinner, the best one I have had for ages. Couldn't fault the place and will be returning when we can.

Staff were nice and the food we had at dinner was very enjoyable. The facilities weren't bad, which made it hard to judge value for money. Seemed clean and tidy.

Everything about our stay was fantastic! The food, the room and the location. Chris was the most amazing, accommodating host who went out of her way for us. I can’t recommend this guest house enough!

I was so appalled by this hotel that I asked for a refund and stayed at the Premier Inn down the road that was £10 more with a sea view and a lavish room. The Great Western Hotel didn't feel safe. It has narrow winding corridors with rickety moving floors. I felt if there was a fire I wouldn't be able to get out. The room I was shown smelt of damp and was stained on the walls by water ingress.

It looked a little tired from the outside but was much nicer on the inside.the room wasn’t luxurious but was spotlessly clean and functional. The family room was actually two rooms joined together so suited us perfectly. The location was lovely: we took a nice stroll out to the headland after breakfast one morning; we took a half hour stroll along Fistral Beach to go to dinner one evening. We especially loved the pool, which was bigger than we’d expected, and the staff could not have been more friendly and accommodating.

This was a no breakfast guest house which suited us and was therefore reflected in such a good price for a really superior guest house. All the extras supplied for the room and shower room was the nicest l have ever seen. A n above quality guest house , which was quiet with a friendly host who couldn’t do enough for you we usually stay in premiere inn in Newquay but not anymore

Breakfast fabulous, made my favourite porridge just the way I like it, and I had fresh fruit, yoghurt, coffee and toast. my friend had cooked breakfast and enjoyed it too. owners very welcoming, attentive and most helpful, particularly with helping us select restaurants to book as it was proving a challenge. We liked the fact that the guest house is on the outskirts of the town therefore quiet and short 15/20mins walk into town for dinner. Bus stop outside the guest house too, taking us to Padstow, Truro and the airport.
