Nice hotel and good breakfast (wedang roti is my fave). I think it’ll be better to add the cover that can be close if it is raining (if we only have one night and it’s raining then the kids can’t swim). If you turn left from the front of the hotel towards the traffic light, there’s a Nasi Liwet stall, all their food are so nice, worth to visit for dinner 😉

What an excellent hotel, highly recommended! Very friendly staff, colonial style rooms with a lot of space and windows that keep the noise out, an awesome restaurant at the rooftop with outstanding service and a big variety of food and drinks at the rich breakfast buffet. The afternoon tea and coffee around the pool make you feeling like in a colonial period. The manager took care of us personally. When we arrived, we could turn the fortune spinning wheel to win prizes on the occasion of the first anniversary of the hotel.

The staff were very friendly and helpful and the general hotel facilities were excellent. Great food for lunch and dinner at reasonable prices in the restaurant (we didn't have the breakfast option). Nice towels, comfortable bed and good water pressure.

It’s an attractive house, with an inner verdant courtyard, where you take breakfast (nasi goreng 👍). Rifat, his brother and rest of the staff are incredibly welcoming, and keen to help you make arrangements and just generally chat. Cups of tea and coffee were offered free of charge, on arrival and whenever you were just relaxing in the courtyard.

Great homestay, Rafit and his family really make feel welcome and part of the family. Lovely small inner garden with a big table around which visitors and family can assemble. We had great chats! Rafit is learning to speak Dutch and loves to speak it with Dutch guests. They are happy to help you plan your stay in Solo. We of course have to mention the delicious nasi goreng and tempe goreng breakfast, prepared by the lovely and upbeat Dwi! :)

The Mahalaya is brand new and very beautiful, an old-looking (but new) building that is beautifully furnished. We loved it here, especially the pool area and the stunningly beautiful restaurant, both on the higher floors. Staff are kind and competent, and we felt very happy here. We had breakfast and dinner here and were very happy with those, too. We did not expect this hotel to be on such a high standard, it is really good value for money.

Enjoyed my stay, great bed with fluffy pillows, great facilities like swimming pool (3rd floor) with terrace and city views. Restaurant with good breakfast and dinner options. Beautiful crafts on display on every floor and main entrance. Close to centre, kraton and park with amazing food stalls during the evening.
