We loved the homely atmosphere in this family-run guesthouse. They took great care of us from the moment we arrived, all the way to the very end of our stay in Nuwara Eliya. They even took us to the train station on our way to Ella to make sure we got the tickets we needed for our journey. The tour Chami gave us of the area was amazing, we had one of the best days of our stay in Sri Lanka so far. The food was also great, if you’ve got some spare time, I highly recommend having dinner there as well. They prepared a delicious vegetarian meal for us with organic vegetables.

This was the best guest house I’ve stayed at in Sri Lanka! If you’re coming to Nuwara Eliya choose Green Villa, you won’t be disappointed! The family here made my stay special, they were so incredibly kind and interesting to talk to. From the moment I arrived I felt welcomed, the dinner I had the first night was so affordable and delicious, as was the breakfast the next day. They were constantly bringing us tea and small Sri Lankan treats too. What I really enjoyed was the family liked hanging out with the guests, they had a birthday while I was there and they shared their cake and celebrations with us. If you want to, you can help in the kitchen and learn to cook some Sri Lankan dishes too! The rooms were simple but very comfortable and clean, the Wi-Fi worked great and the shower was hot. Amazing place!

Easy to reach from the city, nice knowledgable host, comfortable room, nice warm tea, nice company with other hikers. Notify the host if you plan on arriving early as he's also a guide and might be busy in the mornings. He made sure we could keep our backpacks at the property by calling his friend to unlock the house gate so we can explore the city, but it would have been nice on our part to inform him beforehand. The indian restaurants in this city is exceptional, so don't miss out!
