Glenmoriston
The Cluanie Inn is situated in the remote wilderness of the picturesque Glen Shiel on the way to the Isle of Skye. This mountain inn reflects much of the Highland’s unique rustic charm with character-filled rooms that are spacious and cosy. The Inn serves hearty scrumptious meals and the warmth of the crackling log fires in the lobby will make you feel right at home. We visited the highlands and Isle of Skye at a very busy time. There were limited hotel options when we booked and were apprehensive about staying in the middle of nowhere for a couple of nights. We worried for nothing as this property was brilliant in every regard. It is not as isolated as first thought as it is 25 minutes from Fort Augustus to the east and the same distance from Dornie to the west. It is situated on the main road that leads to the Isle of Skye. It's facilities are charming with cozy sitting areas, a roomy, well stocked bar, good restaurant with ample menu choices and amazing scenery surrounding the property. A well worn trail 100 meters east of the hotel leads to a stream and waterfall that runs into the Loch to the east. Hike further up the hill for spectacular views of the highland hills. The breakfast is well stocked and a server will take orders for hot breakfast that is not already on the ample buffet. The rooms are rustic, charming and comfortable. We had a great experience.

I liked that you could choose what you required for breakfast. It is a more efficient system. The breakfast itself was excellent. I attended a Whisky Festival dinner and the food was superb. A lot of time and effort had been put in by the hotel management the chef and the distillery staff.
Everything..the location is so so great. We liked everything of that hotel. The dinner and the breakfast were great’ The staff is very pleasant. The hotel is stunning.
After the poor quality of Dinner we chose not to take breakfast.
My dad and I had a short but wonderful stay at Portree guest house last week on our way up to Isle of Harris. The location of the guest house is a short walking distance to the town and also conveniently has parking on site. The room was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. The managers on site were extremely helpful, and even provided us with breakfast foods to go as we had to rush off to our ferry.
Above average restaurant menu selection, preparation and presentation for dinner! Friendly, helpful hotel staff and servers
Perfect location, lovely host, big spacious rooms, very comfy beds, could enter the petting farm as many times as you liked! We had a great stay! Also had a lovely dinner at the seaview hotel.
Good area if you’re going past Inverness for the highlands but also near the city to drive to for dinner. Had a pleasant time at the guest house, the welcome chocolates were great and Danny our host also gave us many useful tips and recommendations for our travels! Room was clean, WiFi was good, nothing much to complain about.
having booked several properties for our tour of Scotland it had slipped my mind that our choice at Innisfree Guest House was a studio so it was a lovely surprise to find on check in that we had a very nice sitting room along with a bedroom and en suite. Everything was well presented, very clean and comfortable.
We didn’t stay in the Myrtle Bank Guest House itself. Instead, we were given a separate property for the night which was a perfect end to our getaway. The entire property was clean, very well furnished and had amazing views of Loch Linnhe. In the morning we had breakfast in the Guest House and staff were very friendly and welcoming. From what we saw of the guest house, again it was very well kept, lovely decor and unique. The breakfast was wonderful and again, the views for breakfast made it even better.
