The guidebook in the room was very helpful and provided information about things to do in the Lake District area, by foot or car. I took a 45 minute walk around the nearby farm and enjoyed quiet, scenic views. The unit we stayed in consisted of a large living room, full kitchen, bedroom, and bath with shower and tub. We had dinner and breakfast in the restaurant, both meals were scrumptious. There was a great vibe at dinner and it was clear that this is not just a spot for guests, but also popular with the locals. Parking was available just across the street. We would definitely stay here again.

Very clean, plenty of towels and bedding, very comfortable mattress and quiet location, prime location to walk the full Derwentwater route, staff were all absolutely lovely and hospitable, they make an amazing breakfast and cater for vegetarians too, restaurant dinner was superb as well, this was an amazing stay and we would definitely come back again!
room was very nice and dinner was excellent
The guest house is in a great location, the hosts are amazing and the house is spotless. Our room was really nice with a very comfortable bed, kettle, coffee machine, tv and a radio alarm clock. The en-suite was lovely with ample shower gel, shampoo and towels. We have dietary requirements and the hosts could not have been more helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was amazing with a huge choice on the menu, there is something for everyone. Mia the dog is lovely too, she is so friendly!
My family and I booked a stay to celebrate our parents wedding anniversary. The hotel Manager, Paul, and all the staff members were absolutely fabulous. They arranged a private dinning room for us all and were very accommodating. The meal was superb and the service was equally fantastic. Our room was very nicely decorated, modern, clean and had everything we needed. Breakfast was great with a wide variety of options to choose from.
Staff were very friendly and attentive. The room was very comfortable with modern decor and modern bathroom. The breakfast variety was excellent and the foodand service was great. The dinner menu was varied and the food good.
Amazing in every way. Simply the best guest house we've ever stayed at. Stunning room, and common areas. Breakfast was the best we've had. Friendly owners and a family run business. Excellent location. Just book your stay at Dalkeith, you will love it! 10/10
The hotel was excellent, clean, quiet and a great location on the edge of Grasmere village. The rooms were very spacious, with the bed being probably the most comfortable hotel bed we have stayed in. Food, both breakfast and dinner was delicious and all the staff very attentive, would highly recommend a stay. Looking forward to our next visit already.
Great guest house, and the proprietors were absolutely lovely, very helpful and welcoming.
Great little 'olde worlde' inn. Very rustic in all aspects, as you would expect from a place of that age, but delivered a great experience. Rooms basic but clean, food fantastic, and all the staff very helpful. We had the pleasure of a power cut in the village on one night, which delayed our meal a little, but the staff were great, and we got to eat eventually when the power came back on after a couple of hours. Would have no problem recommending this property!
