OMG, what a great Inn. The bed was extremely comfortable, the setting was idyllic and it was quiet. The food was excellent and the staff were so friendly. The pub was very busy and a lot of fun, though I was too tired to take full advantage of the Saturday night fun. Breakfast was a full-on English breakfast with cereals, juice, 2 eggs, bacon, homemade toast and jam, mushrooms, roast tomato and the best breakfast sausage know to man. Be sure to reserve a table for dinner as they do fill up. As an aside, the kind staff (Christine and Jan) look after a feral cat that hangs out at the Inn. Not sure of his/her name, but she was very friendly and liked a good scratch on the neck. I woke up early the next morning to find the cat waiting at my door. After a light scratching, She led me downstairs to let her out. The entire experience at Roast Ox Inn was perfect and is highly recommended.

Recently refurbished pub the room was very spacious and very clean and the beds very comfortable. Room was very well furnished; bed was very comfortable. The hotel was silent at night which made it easy to go to sleep. Bathroom and shower were fantastic; water was gushing. Breakfast was really good, plenty of choice. Dinner was nice too.
The quiet location with a view, the option to have dinner, the selection at the bar, and the lovely breakfast options. The staff was also very friendly and helpful.
Gorgeous setting with sheep bleating faintly in the background - inn was easy to find with GPS. Rooms were cozy and spotlessly clean. We had dinner on site - delicious - wide selection of refreshments.
Don't think this is an international hotel and judge it accordingly. It's a rural inn in a beautiful but remote location surrounded by hills and fields. You will walk into a warm welcome, physical and emotional. The room we had was old-fashioned, rather rustic, characterful, definitely not marble and stainless steel but perfectly comfortable, rather like stepping back in time. the staff were great and the meals were wonderful.
The staff was excellent - from the email when we booked suggesting we book our dinner as well since they usually are fully booked, to the woman who checked us in and got us settled, to the host who took care of us the next day - everyone was so friendly and knowledgeable. The historic inn is beautiful and charming, our room was great, and the food was fabulous!
This place is full of character, and combines every modern comfort with charm of a genuinely historic inn. Very friendly staff, excellent food, located in the centre of a beautiful town.
Room was charming and rustic inline with the age of the building, with fantastic views of the surrounding area. The dine in dinner was to die for and the puddings exceptional, making you wanting more. Staff were very friendly and made you feel at home and comfortable with ease. An exceptional Inn and restaurant, to be booked time and time again.
Convenient base for two day mid-Wales stay. Tucked away down a lane yet convenient for town and station. We were in oldest part of the historic Inn, but room was comfortable clean and smartly furnished. Good pub food and choice of beer. Spread-out choice of dining facilities (bar, restaurant, covered outside at rear of Inn, or open garden at front). Staff helpful.
