At Kokonoe Machiya the rooms are equipped with bed linen and towels. The best stay I had in Japan. All the facilities are clean and comfortable. The owners are super friendly, full of useful tips and offer valuable advice and just general insight about Japan and Kyoto. Every morning they prepare traditional Japanese breakfast for free. I hope I get to come back at some point.

Breakfast each morning was a treat, I've eaten and worked in high-end restaurants and can honestly say the effort and flavour that was put into each meal, just breakfast was incredible. The rEverythingooms and decor was beautiful, rustic but still spotless not even a scruff mark on a wall. If you get a chance to stay here you will be amazed at every detail! Location was also great, 15 minute walk to city and 15 minute walk to kyoto station.

This house was extremely clean, comfortable, and in a quiet and safe area close to the train station. It is only a 2 min walk to a grocery store and 3 min walk to Family Mart. Hori, the owner, was the best! She provided everything that we needed and was very responsive prior and during our stay. The house has 4 toilets, 2 showers, and a washing machine with drying function. The house is very well taken care of. Everythjng is new and worked perfectly. Thank you, Hori!!!
