Boasting a shared lounge, terrace and views of sea, Garoupas Inn is set in Ponta Delgada, 500 metres from São Roque Beach. The property is situated less than 1 km from Milicias Beach, 1.8 km from Populo Beach and 16 km from Pico do Carvao. The inn has a hot tub and luggage storage space. Amazing place to stay in Sao Miguel - we cannot wait to go back and stay at Garoupas. The location of Sao Roque was perfect for us, right on the coast, with a beautiful sea view and just a short walk to some lovely beaches. It was only a 5 min drive (40 min walk) into the main city of Ponta Delgada so well connected but just enough outside that it was quieter. Having said that, there were some fantastic restaurants within walking distance and I am sure a few of the bars which we saw were closed (due to it being December - off-season) would be thriving in the summer. The room was fairly small and simple but lovely, had a nice bottle of wine waiting for us, a comfortable bed and a nice big shower. There was also regular cleaning throughout the stay. The real treat was the terrace with the most amazing view over the ocean! The breakfast was amazing - yogurts, fruit, ham, cheese, pastries, bread, fresh baked goods everyday and eggs and bacon if you want it. If you go there, request the peach cobbler! The best part about this place through are the hosts - they literally cannot do more to make you feel comfortable and help you explore the island. Make sure you have a sit down with Mike and a map, we discovered some real hidden gems thanks to him!

The rooms at the inn are fitted with a seating area and a flat-screen TV. With a private bathroom fitted with a shower and a hair dryer, rooms at Quadros House also boast free WiFi. The units will provide guests with a wardrobe and a kettle. The cottage is wonderful. Lots of space and a beautiful garden with ocean view. A little paradise. The owner is very friendly and helpful.

Complete with a private bathroom fitted with free toiletries, all guest rooms at the inn have a flat-screen TV and air conditioning, and some rooms also offer a balcony. The rooms will provide guests with a desk and a kettle. My family is from Portugal, so I do travel here often. Sometimes I stay in the Azores, today I’m on route to Madeira. My layover was 14 hours arriving at 6:45 in the morning. I had sent my Flight information to João just the day before. I really just needed a place to rest before my next flight and put my stuff down. When I arrived at this hotel, in the wee hours of the morning, I was greeted by a sweet woman named Sílvia. She was absolutely lovely told me she had to wait until somebody checked out to get me into my room but she would try and get it ready as soon as she can. which is completely understandable seeing us check-in is typically 3 PM. She made sure that my bags were safe and looked after, showed me to the bathroom to freshen up and encouraged me to have breakfast at the hotel. The breakfast was wonderful and just what I needed. I went out for a little walk, The location of the hotel is convenient and close to Everything, shops, restaurants, the water, everything. I came back and fell asleep in the sitting room on one of the reclining chairs in the beautifully decorated hotel. At 11:30 AM, Sílvia Woke me up and told me that she had good news and that my room is ready. She had already put my bags up there for me. This is the best experience I’ve ever had in a hotel, anywhere in the world let alone on the beautiful island of Sao Miguel. The room itself is lovely with a beautiful, comfortable bed. The windows were open with a lovely breeze and I had a terrace outside my bathroom. I wish I could’ve stayed here longer, but I will be back! João, Was always available via WhatsApp and booked a cab for me to head back to the airport on time. Thank you both for being so amazing. I can’t wait to come back.
