The host and staff are very welcoming and I certainly felt like I was home. The rooms are well organised, clean, and comfortable and offers everything you need for a good night's rest. The room includes a power socket with multiple USB ports which is perfect for charging all the electronic devices I use for cycling (watch, headphones, cell phones etc). The included breakfast is delicious and nurioushing-dont forget to try the homemade apricot jam! The on-site restaurant offers a wide range of tasty home-cooked meals and the outdoor area provides a wonderful setting with flowers and decorations. Just across the road, there is a nice little park which overs a great afternoon for relaxing and a swim. Look out for a view of Stift Melk in the distance.

The garden includes a historic chapel. it was right on our cycle route, so easy to find, super clean, great storage for bikes along with tools etc. to do any maintenance. Dinner on the terrace was delicious as was the buffet breakfast. it’s almost right on the Danube, we watched cruise ships go by.

A traditional Viennese-style café in a 16th-century building in the pedestrian zone in the centre of Melk, Madar Café Restaurant zum Fürsten is only 500 metres from Melk Abbey. Free high-speed WiFi and free private parking are available. perfect location in the middle of the town, nicely furnished and spacious rooms. the hotel has a restaurant with good austrian food, a bar with delicious wine from the region and they make their own ice cream and roast their own coffee. it’s a really nice place overall and especially the staff is amazing, so friendly, helpful and warm! i would definitely recommend it and will stay there again when i’m in the region.
