Very cozy village, nested in the mountains. It has great hotels, nice and very good restaurants. It doesn't have too much noise, so it's excellent to relax. There are frequent buses taking skiers to the resort and Cabine (in winter) and in summer there are great options for hikes and mountain biking. It also offers many tax-free shops.

Lovely village on the quiet side away from the hurly burly of Ischgl. It's a duty free area so if you are in buying mode, it's worth a visit but do shop around. The accommodation and restaurants are not that cheap - but we had amazing service at Garni Collina and a fab location. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from and buses to get you around - we didn't have to move our car once. When we left, the petrol was really cheap too!

Nice surroundings with many possibilities to hike. I can recommend the hike to Piz Motnair which was recommended to us by hotel staff and was really worth going there. I presume that is also right place to stay for winter holidays, because you can easily get to ISCHGL ski resort by cabincar from SAMNAUN.

For our family ski trip to Ishgyl, we found that staying at...
For our family ski trip to Ishgyl, we found that staying at Samnaun was a better option than staying at Ishgyl. The cable car to the slopes is very efficient and avoids the long wait for the gondolas in Ishgyl in the morning (which we have previously experienced). The run to the Samnaun village is also much nicer than the runs down to Ishgyl which sometimes get so icy they become almost impossible for the family to ski. Buy your groceries in Pfunds (Austria) on the way up. Much more variety and far cheaper than in Samnaun. Be careful of where the ski apartment is situated. There are some apartments that are a long way from the cable car station and which require either the ski bus or a vehicle to get to the station. Some apartments are genuinely ski in / ski out though.

A very nice area to visit. Friendly people, beautiful scenery. Awesome for a relaxing break away from the stress of work. Enjoy the numerous walks, cycling, spa and leisure facilities, including the duty free shopping. Time doesn't exist here, just relax and enjoy 😁

I would like to highlight the friendliness and attention to details of the hotel staff, as we arrived after midnight and we had crystal clear instructions how to enter into hotel, into our room, use the wifi, the ski room facilities in a way that need no further questions. Plus a great support for getting our ski passes at discounted prices, all ready during our first breakfast. Very well done and a big thank you!

The staff were exceptionally kind and welcoming. My husband was injured on our first day there and on one occasion when we asked the manager how we could take our children to the ski piste, he very kindly offered to drive us down to the gondola. Going above and beyond to help us. If there was one thing we took away from Samnaun (apart from the beautiful mountains) it was how kind the people were.ThomasSwitzerland

Good, sufficient breakfast. As it was off season and the hotel was almost empty, only one time out of three breakfasts I had, there was some warm food available (scrambled eggs with ham), otherwise it was a standard coffee / yogurt / sandwich package. The woman serving breakfast was great! The room was fine, very comfortable bed, bathroom big and clean.

Downtown is about 20 minutes walk. But you can take the free bus there during the day. Staff cleans the room daily and really pay attention to details. Sauna room is very easy to schedule and very clean. The free breakfast is buffet style, so you can choose from breakfast sandwich, oatmeal & yogurt. Staff will also serve you coffee and egg of your choice.
