The Christmas Market in the plaza was one of the best we visited. Great markets, lighting, an ice rink and Santa flying across the sky. There are some great places to eat there and metro station right there. There's also a mall nearby (Alexa)

It was the most amazing place.
It was the most amazing place. I sat for hours watching the teenagers dancing to all types of music. I loved the shopping experience. The shopping opportunities went on and on. It was one train station away from where I was staying so I went there most days to start off. The night market was awesome. I’ve never seen anything like that before. One of the highlights of travelling all over Europe.

Lots a eating options and nearby to museum island and point East and north within the city. I concentrated on the old East Berlin sites so I came through Alexanderplatz and Friedrichstrasse Bahnhofplatz frequently.

We got this tip from a very helpful local - instead of paying top dollar to enter the tower go instead to the nearby park hotel which has a viewing platform where you can see the same view for 4 Euros. They also have a base-jumping platform for the adrenalin junkies.

The decoration is not that common and in general the hotel's theme is unique. The check in was easy and the hotel is right opposite the Berlin central train station. We chose this hotel for this exact reason. Although it is located on a central road, there wasn't noise problem at all. Next to metro station brown line U5 which connects you in just few stations with Alexanderplatz.

We stayed for breakfast, which was continental, but was very varied and contained both hot and cold options. There was also an in house bar that was open late and a nice place for a nightcap before bed. We had a really pleasant stay and would return if we visit Berlin again as it was a great hotel and excellent value for money.

Very easy to get to from the airport (direct train S9 to Alexanderplatz), super central with tons of fantastic coffee shops, restaurants, stores, etc... I got a free upgrade via Booking.com; so the room was big and comfortable. My room was facing the front of the hotel but you can't even hear the traffic once the windows are closed. Good wifi, friendly and professional front desk staff. Honestly, no complaints.
