The staff were all superb and friendly- especially Louise, Sophie, Connor and Marie. I also absolutely loved the Roberts Radio in the room because I love listening to Radio 3 - it made it home from home! The pictures and objects such as musical instruments were utterly charming.

We have family at Catterick and Richmond is only a few minutes drive from there. We like the Station complex with the shops & cinema, the centre of Richmond around the market place. I recommend the Green Howards museum and the Georgian theatre has a great 1 hour tour for just £8. There is the castle to visit and a nice walk around the castle to try. There are plenty of shops, little cafes, an indoor market, lots of pubs and a variety of take-aways. The market pace is cobbled and some streets away from the centre and very steep and can be hard walking for elderly.

Loved the dramatic landscape of the castle and the river valley around the town. The centre is up a slight hill but parking available in the central market square and down by the river. Some public footpaths available to walk in the countryside around the town. The town gives perhaps a good mornings wandering but with a car you can easily access the beautiful dales.

Great market town, the Saturday market held in the cobbled square was in full swing and very well attended.
Richmond is convenient for the stunning North Yorkshire Dales.
Has its own ruined castle and the beautiful river Swale runs through Richmond, lots of independent shops and the most fabulous fish and chips are to be had from the shop in the middle of the square …they are cooked in dripping and were delicious.
Lovely town to visit

Lovely market town, lots of places to eat and drink, some cheap shops to rummage around, ate at Elixir for lunch, lovely food and huge portions. In the evening we ate in Sunitras, beautiful Thai food. Lovely pleasant place to stay for the weekend. We stayed at the Buck Inn, cheap and cheerful, lovely breakfast.
This is a cozy and charming row house in an excellent location. It's a very short walk to the center of town, and very quiet at night. It had everything we needed for a wonderful stay. The back yard patio was a bonus -- it was a great place to sit and relax. We even ate a couple of dinners out there, which we enjoyed immensely. The second bathroom was another bonus we appreciated. The washer and dryer was a third bonus you don't always find in a rental.
We adored Richmond and if we ever go back, we will stay here again.
What a lovely hotel. Recently refurbished to the highest quality it was an aesthetic delight to stay in. And such a beautiful period building. It was extremely hot when we stayed but the hotel found us a wonderful dyson fan that made it possible to relax: lovely. The bed was a mile wide, the shower generous with good water pressure and four - yes FOUR - different shower heads. The service was outstanding. Really 12 our of 10. I would heartily recommend the hotel.
Location was very convenient for exploring Richmond on foot. Nice outlook onto small Georgian Square. Parking using disk system worked well for us in October. Great welcome. Large clean and comfortable room. Nice touches like biscuits and jar of sweeties and tasteful decor in accommodation. The proprietor had only been running the hotel for 8 weeks. She has done a lovely job with the rooms. Great value for money.
The cottage is perfectly located for exploring Richmond on foot. It's a great gateway to driving out into the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The cottage is cosy and had all the amenities we required. It was nice to keep warm during the cold and damp nights. There was plenty of room and storage in the bedrooms. Water pressure was great. The beds were comfy and clean. It was a pleasure to wake up here.
Located just off the main square in Richmond the Hotel makes an excellent rest stop for Coast to Coast walkers or sightseeing. There is limited parking by the hotel but a a parking disc system operates a matter of yards away which which when we arrived allowed us to park overnight. Our room was comfortable and quiet and equipped with a roll top bath which was a nice touch. Breakfast was lovely.
Luxury B&B. The rooms were lovely, clean and the bed comfortable, the staff were great.
Took advantage of the location to have a morning run, breakfast was amazing, cooked with skill and care, using local produce and handmade preserves.
Highly recommend this hotel. Great scenery and about 50 mins from York. The town of Richmond is worth visiting, some lovely restaurants/pubs nearby.
The location of the house is great, you can walk (uphill) into Richmond, and there are plenty of places round about in Yorkshire to visit. We were 3 couples and really liked having 3 double bedrooms each with its own bathroom - in fact there is a surfeit of bathrooms, two more in addition to the 3 ensuites! The lounge area and dining table were both comfortable to hang out in.
Fantastic place to stay in Richmond, a little pricier than alternatives in the area, but room was spotless, spacious and well equipped as well as comfortable bed. Breakfast was amazing, the hosts really look after you and the choice of hot and cold food (including fresh omelettes) was really really good. Parking wasn't too expensive and was right outside the property
The room was clean, comfortable and well furnished, room was serviced daily. The staff were all very polite and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was exceptional and we chose to eat there every night the food was of good quality and plentiful. Would highly recommend and will be definitely staying again. Good location for touring the Yorkshire Dales.
The locationn was absolutly perfect ,in the main square in Richmond. We stayed two nights and were able to explore Richmond at our leisure . The room was fabulous, with a very spaceous ensuite with bath tub and shower. We could not ask for better. The staff were fantastic and the food was delicious
The cottage was great, very comfortable, with all that we needed and we were glad it was cool in the very hot weather! The location was good, about 10 minutes walk into the centre of Richmond. Parking was right outside the cottage and it was quiet, away from the main road.
Breakfast was excellent; full english! Room had lovely views to Richmond Castle and very comfortable. Location was so close to the town centre but also very quiet down a cobbled road. Parking was excellent right outside the hotel and free.
A great Pub and Hotel in a brilliant location. Staff were great. Food was brilliant. Excellent outside seating in a superb street. Richmond is a very good town to tour and chill out. Local walks were relaxing.
The bed was very comfortable and I had a good night's sleep.
The service was excellent and the staff were very friendly.
Being in the centre of Richmond was ideal.
Very clean, peaceful, comfy beds, good location for exploring North Yorkshire. Enjoyed sitting in the sun in the patio area listening to the birds. Dog friendly
Lovely location and Gill was delightful; very friendly and welcoming. Fantastic breakfasts and close to Richmond for lovely walks, shops and meals out.
