Make sure there is not some form of function/celebration or protest. Trafalgar Square was entirely closed up & decorated for Chinese New year & I felt that took away from one of London's iconic features
Gets crowded on any warm day but woth seeing the nations tribute to our most famous and successful admiral,Lord Nelson.Around the square are a number of our famous galleries. All the streets off the square offer a whole range of interesting places to and things to see.
Wonderful place with easy access to National Gallery and the Portrait Gallery is just around the back. Both have good cafes to eat and good Gallery shops. Often there are performers in this Square which adds to the atmosphere.Kids love climbing on the bronze lions.
Overlooking the Square is St. Martin-in-the-Fields Church. Go there. To the left of the church is a glass dome with stairs or take the lift down to their Cafe in the Crypt. Yes, it’s where people are buried. You can dine very cheap for London. cafeteria style. The food tastes like home cooking. Always a gluten free, veg. choice. The grave stones are under your feet. Open until 9 PM most nights. Also, they have a small, but nice gift shop. At Christmas time, wonderful card selection. Enjoy.
Go if only to look inside. The National Museum is wonderful. Step into St Martins in the field for a look. The restaurant in the Crypt is reliable. There is usually something on the plaza to enjoy.
Great location, Very handy for the embassies if you need them, a short walk to Trafalgar square. The room is compact but still has a great shower and toilet. You can lay in bed and watch your partner in the shower. I paid extra for a room with a window, but I do not think that is necessary, would still be a nice room. The staff are friendly I left my phone charger so sent them a self addressed envelop, to send it back and they did. I found parking near by so avoided using the tube, using a parking website.
excellent location, few minutes walk to the tube and Charing Cross Station, Embankment, Trafalgar Square and Covent Garden, parking meters outside the property. The staff are friendly and attentive. My room was comfortable with compact kitchen and utensils. We found the hotplate and extractor fan didn't work and were given a new room without hesitation.
The Hotel was in such a great position on the corner of Liester Square with Piccadilly Circus 1 minute away as was Soho and Trafalgar Square 3 minutes away. A great location to explore London
