A great site with multiple routes through the extensive...
A great site with multiple routes through the extensive grounds. The Initiation well goes down steps for several stories, emerging below with a view through a waterfall. We walked here from our accommodations and it made a nice day out. Take a snack or water as the onsite restaurant is very pricey.

Take a leisure walk from where ever you stay to Quinta da Regaleira. Purchase an audio tour and stroll your way through this fascinating "home". Take time to look at the decor and the architecture. Then, plan to spend some time exploring these amazing and unique grounds. Explore the labyrinth of caverns and tunnels as well as the beauty of the flora in the gardens. Purchase your ticket in advance on-line for a discount.

We visited 4 castles in Sintra - Quinta de Regaleira, Pena...
We visited 4 castles in Sintra - Quinta de Regaleira, Pena Palace, Moorish Scales and Monseratte and definitely the Regaleira was our favorite for the intricate architecture and the thoughtful details and stunning views from each nook around the gardens and the palace. The gardens are magnificent and very well maintained. So much beauty everywhere, we felt like in a fairy tale. :)

It is such a grand, spacious area that should handle crowds better. Buying tickets was not efficient as it seemed like there was only ticket line whereas 4 other people could have helped more. The employees were not processing people pleasantly or rapidly. If the cue could see which employee was free (like an airline). Signage not adequate.LisaUnited States

The staff was very nice, kind and responsive. But there are things they cannot change with kindness. The interior of the hotel is very beautiful. Our room and bathrooms were wonderful. The breakfast room and lobby are beautiful. Breakfast was good for our taste, but we usually eat croissant and coffee :). Hotel is very close to palace Quinta da Regaleira (8 min. walking).

It is located in the central of Sintra, which you can walk to quinta da regaleira in fews mins or other historic places, near the bus station 434 which lead you to Palais of Pena. The apartment is comfort with the kitchenware and washing machine. We are family with two kids. There is a sofa bed, but we need to do bed by ourselves, but it didnt disturb us.
