We took the local train from Taipei (NOT the HSR, which stops at a different location) & arrived at Taichung station, just a 15min walk to hotel. From Sparrow, we could get around easily to Second market, Yisheng night market, Taichung Park, Taichung meatball restaurant and Suncake museum. Staff were patient & kind. Rooms were clean, no musty smells. The eating area in the foyer was really user friendly with a microwave & coffee/tea facilities.

Starbucks is in the little (super little) shopping mall within the same building as the hotel. Staffs spoke decent English.
