The lodge is NOT in the village center, you need a ride to get there from the bus. Otherwise It's a 20-30 min walk, uphill.

The little house is very nice and cozy. The host is very friendly and answers every single question. He organized a hike for us which was much cheaper than the offers in lushoto Centre. He also brought us some cookies and bananas in the afternoon which was very kind!

The view from the cliff is absolutely stunning, especially during sunrise and sunset! You can do lovely walks around the surrounding hills and villages. The food was very delicious and the staff very friendly and helpful.

Well honestly I had a bit of a problem when I first arrived, but the staff was so considerate and went out of their way to ensure I had a pleasant stay at their hotel. And the administration was simply amazing. It’s my honest opinion that staying at Kakakuona Lodge made my first time in Lushoto that much more memorable.

That place is worth visiting.
That place is worth visiting. Half the way from Dar es Salaam to Arusha, that's a good place to make a stop a full day and maybe more. The Usambara mountains are amazing.
Book some visits with a guide from the Friends of Usambara Society. They are very professional and a part of your payment is supporting great projects as a tree nursery, or schools building.
