Featuring garden views, Origen del Maipo Lodge in San José de Maipo features accommodation, a garden, barbecue facilities and a terrace. A perfect place to start our vacation in Chile and disconnect from the big city and the cold in Canada. The cabin was beautiful inside and out and the whole property was so calming to be in. The hiking trail was more challenging than we anticipated (which we liked) and offered really amazing views of the surrounding area. Any staff we interacted with were very nice and we appreciated their driving on the very rough road in to the lodge. You definitely can't take any basic rental car, but the secure parking they recommended in town was easy to find and the staff there were easy to deal with, the car was fine by itself for a few days.

It is easy to reach El Ingenio with a "colectivo taxi" or with "la micro" from Santiago. We need to walk a bit to access the propriety, but the place is lovely and the view on the mountains is breathtaking! Paul is a wonderful host! He was always here to help us in case and to provide advice on the places to visit around. I definitely recommend this place if you want to spend wonderful time in Cajon del Maipo :-D !
