Staying at Holmen Husky is an experience far away from staying at an ordinary hotel. We want our guests to get closer to nature and to get a taste of what it is like to live close to the elements.

Holmen Husky is a small, family-run business who has been working with dogs since the 80s. Some of us have even grown up in the dogyard and on the sled. It is much more than an activity or an experience that has got us all addicted. it’s a feeling that must be experienced. Holmen Husky was the highlight of our month long trip. From sleeping in lavu to the food to the wonderful dogs that wait for you to walk past and rub their tummies. The staff are exceptional with a special shout out to Tess who fit us in for the amazing husky sledding and Wico for his amazing food. I cannot recommend this place enough. We even watched the Aurora from our bed! A great place for kids too....

10 km from Alta City and 500 metres from Alta River lies Trasti & Trine Boutique Hotel. Surrounded by forest, the location offers good hiking, skiing and biking trails straight from the cottage door. There is both free WiFi and free on-site parking. I would rate this accommodation as one of the best I've experienced; really nice cabins, in the middle of the Norwegian arctic forest! We got a cabin with two stories. Bottom floor was a bed room, with great beds, with a glass wall towards the forest. It was like sleeping in the woods, among the trees. There was also a functional bathroom and shower. The top floor was a kind of small lounge, with another big window, stretching up to the ceiling. Had it been winter we would have seen the stars or the aurora light, but in the summer one could look up to the bright sky! We slept like a king and queen! Then there was a restaurant, serving superfood. We had a three course meal that was really top quality, with good wine to it. Do I need to tell you that the breakfast was good. This was a perfect place to stay on the way between the eastern part of arctic Norway and the western shores!

The nearest airport is Tromsø, Langnes Airport, 33 km from the lodge. cozy small nicely furnished cabin with a beautiful view. We really liked the concept of choosing a breakfast variation which they bring directly to your cabin. We recommend booking a car early enough in advance since the accommodation is 40 min away from the city centre/ airport and cars are not easy to get spontaneously. 3 of 4 nights northern lights were easily so see. Everyone was super friendly- we would definitely come back.

Guests at the lodge can enjoy skiing and cycling nearby, or make the most of the garden. Very nice view to the sea and village. There were also many animals, what was nice to watch, example sheeps, reindeer, fox. The cabin was nice and modern. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

After a day of hiking, skiing or fishing, guests can relax in the garden or in the shared lounge area. Super clean! Spotless, the sea, the mountains, a lovely little shop, beautiful home, amazing people, very friendly. The bbq hut is a must! Absolutely beautiful!!! They have thought of everything!

Featuring mountain views, North Experience Basecamp in Melen features accommodation, free bikes, a garden, a shared lounge, a terrace and a restaurant. Both WiFi and private parking are accessible at the lodge free of charge. Huts very warm and cosy, with great views. Meals were tasty, especially the reindeer and salmon. Hottub was great too. Staff were so lovely - so helpful and welcoming
