Probably best option for family around Edinburgh if you have rental car and do not fancy hotel prices in Edinburgh. Really nice location, quiet. Around 30-minute drive to Edinburgh city centre. At the same time in Dunfermline there is historical Abbey just bit over 2 miles away and you could easily take the walk. The house itself has everything you need even for longer stay 🙂 3 bedrooms, comfortable beds, wifi, tv (also nerflix). Kitchen was equipped well and all utensils needed to make homemade pasta bolognese were available. Backyard was nice. Also the communication with host was good!

    Magnificent old house, lovely peaceful grounds, room luxurious , huge and quiet, beds so comfortable, duvet and pillows top quality, bathroom excellent with nice toiletries.     I loved everything about it! The staff were absolutely brilliant and so friendly couldn’t have done more for me and my family! Compliments to the chef’s as well as the food was delicious on both nights for dinner! so much so I am bringing my mother and grandmother down for the steak pie as it’s the best myself and my son have ever tasted! Outstanding hotel and clean, what more could you want 😃

    From the minute we arrived till we left again, we were treated to exceptional service. Staff were all so friendly and helpful. We had breakfast as well as dinner in hotel and the food was 1st class. Asked for the chef to change a sauce with my pasta and it was no bother at all.
