Motel One is by far the best, almost to the point where I couldn’t believe it was the same price as Ibis Budget and similar places. But the best part is the gorgeous bar open until 1am every day and tended by Artil, who makes great drinks and conversation.

I arrived early, no problem. I needed an ironing board, no problem. I returned to the hotel late and wanted a late check-out, no problem. I was treated in a friendly manner, and I snoozed away like a King in a room where I could change the temperature, open the window, have a hot shower, and feel safe and undisturbed for a price that truly reflected what I wanted. If you are alone or a couple, and NOT in town to spend time in the hotel - but to work or visit the colorful Berlin, its' perfect. On top of this, there was a bust stop right outside, a tram stop 5 minutes walk away, and within a15-minute walk or two stops on the tram/bus I was at the central train station.

I had a really great experience at Motel One Berlin Ku’ Damm. The hotel is in a perfect location, few minutes walk to a few contemporary museums/galleries, vibrant cafes and restaurants. Berlin Zoo and Tiergarten are also a few steps away, and was great to escape into from the summer heat wave. The hotel staff was really friendly, and my room was available ahead of check-in time. Very clean room, not large but very comfortably arranged, comfy bed, good sound insulation (I couldn’t hear it even though the hotel is next to the rail track). Since the train station is almost next door, which allowed for easy access to other parts of the city, and outside areas like Potsdam for day trips.
